Got my car back from the dealership and the shuddering issue upshifting (d1 to d2 when transmission temp is +165F) is now resolved!
Transmission valve body was replaced, just like for the couple of other users on this issue thread.
Here’s the summary of dealership notes
- verified with guest on a test drive and experienced concern, shudder during 1-2 upshift intermittently with trans temp above 170F
- tech verified fluid level and condition, performed quicklearn, no effect/change
- dealership contacted Star (Jeep), and then removed pan and inspected debris in pan to observe normal amount of debris in pan from transmission breaking in. Fluid not discolored and nothing abnormal in pan
- Star advised valve body replacement.
- dealership replaced transmission valve body, filled with correct amount of liquid, programmed and configured to vehicle. Performed quicklearn, transmission now shifting normally with temp over 170F
There you have it! I’m just glad it got resolved and I can get back to enjoying my new Jeep cuz I really love driving it so far.
So I guess for some the shuddering/strange shifting may get resolved with transmission breaking in or quicklearn, but in my case it didn’t, and the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. My GCL has about 3K miles
Thanks
