My Grand Cherokee L has 2900 miles and it shifts very weird around 10 to 20 mph. It’s almost as if the transmission was slipping. I will be taking into dealership tomorrow. Hopefully it’s just low on transmission fluid or a software update, but I don’t know. It’s frustrating. If i accelerate fast you can’t really tell, but from a dead stop and accelerating slowly once it hits 10 to 20mph it shakes almost as if it was going to stall. After that speed it drives fine. Has anyone experienced this with any other Jeeps? I traded in my Jeep Cherokee and never had any problems with that one.

Thank You. They have my appointment for October 7 since they are pretty busy here in Corpus Christi, TX. I will update once they tell me something.

I’m having exactly the same issue, it’s random. It’s like a hesitation or a couple of quick and subtle (but noticeable) jerks when starting from 0 mph (d1) to 15/20 mph (right when it gears up to d2). It happens often only on medium to hard acceleration. Haven’t noticed when accelerating lightly.

Bought my GCL limited at brand new at 25 miles. Started noticing at like at 150-200 miles.

Brought my car to dealership twice to get it checked out. 1st time they installed a couple software recalls/update. That didn’t fix it. Second the dealership kept the car for 3 days and couldn’t figure it.

Dealership told me to just monitor the problem to see if it worsen. I was so surprised and shocked to hear that.

Paid 55k for my GCL and dealership/jeep can’t figure out or fix this issue!? This is horrible and such a bad customer experience

I hope someone can look into this. I can provide my vin and info on the dealership I brought my car to in Minneapolis

We get the same thing happening with our overland. I think enough people have to go to jeep with this problem for them to do something about it. It's not a mechanical failure, it seems more like computer shifting is funky. Not many people will notice this problem.

I have a 2014 Cherokee. It's transmission was replaced just over 5 years and 60,000 miles. I had taken it in for lurches, not starting and sounds at least six times before the warranty expired. Sometimes the problem couldn't be recreated/found, sometimes I received a software update. When a problem wasn't found, I didn't get any paperwork saying that there had been a complaint. My advice is be sure you're creating a paperwork trail. Initially Jeep wasn't going to cover anything, then I got a 50% discount and had transmission replaced. About nine months after that I received the other 50% back. Get everything in writing when you have a complaint, even if they find nothing.
