Summit Reserve Sticker Difference - eLSD?

Another thing I'm thinking is what's happening. Whatever orders come in for the eLSD, I think they're headed for the Summit Reserve orders. I saw on the Jeep website that that the regular Summits have the 400 dollar discount for not having eLSD, but that discount isn't there on the Reserve. With my V8 Summit Reserve still in purgatory, I think it's the eLSD I'm waiting for
I ordered the Reserve. I was the first one to notice the 400 reduction in my order resulting in no Elsd.

I’m pissed honestly, but I also think there’s a path forward. I’m appreciative that my dealer is selling for 1% under invoice, and with the $400 feature reduction and $500 resale price for a 230mm diff, that would leave me with about a $900 added cost to get back the eLSD (worst case, assuming a diff swap is needed and I do it myself). That’s far less than the other ways this pandemic has ended up costing me money, like paying 3x more for a wood fence. Again, not happy about it, but trying to remain optimistic.

I just checked the Jeep site. When you build the regular Summit, it still shows the same MSRP as the Reserve prior to adding options, 58,995.

It also shows the eLSD with 230MM rear axle. See attached. I just took another screen shot of the standard options.

Disgraceful,

Why would you trade in your car prior to picking up your new one? That is such a terrible idea.

not sure I understand the logic of asking “why” and saying it’s terrible before you have the answer, but off the top of my head I would think that if someone had a depreciating asset, alternative means of transportation and a reasonable expectation that the car is arriving soon (which is, just without eLSD), it could be a reasonable decision. I wouldn’t expect someone to anticipate the dealer dropping options on the assembly line. Also, I’ve known people who got t-boned on the way to the dealer with car than latter became worth half its value. Sometimes you make the tough call with the options you have. 🤷‍♂️

I traded mine in while my Reserve was ordered as the trade was worth 8000 more than it was a year ago. Assumption is that it may drop in value by the time my Reserve arrives.

I have alternate transportation. I didn’t think that Jeep would screw people out of something that was a standard feature on the model I priced out. Also 8-12 weeks I was ok with that. But what I was not ok with is the bait and switch Jeep has perpetrated on many on this form. If I would have been told up front and Jeep saying it would be an additional 8-12 weeks. I still would have understood. But being deceptive is not ok in any situation.

I hope this explains a few things. Also the dealership need vehicles to put on there lot. Not upset with the dealership. Only Jeep.

Oh ok. Sorry, should have added "to me" after "thats a terrible idea". There is risk both ways. So, you replace the risk of the trade-in being worth less in the future with the risk that you no longer have the leverage of trade-in vehicle (i.e. much harder to back out of the deal if needed).

I am sorry, this is not a bait and switch. A bait and switch is illegal. A bait and switch would have been them delivering the vehicle with the missing part listed on the window sticker and not telling you it was missing. Nothing they did was illegal. There is a widely discussed semiconductor part shortage (so bad that it stopped the production of the number 1 selling vehicle in the US) and they substituted it for another part. They gave you money off in the amount of the cost of the missing part. The window sticker would have been adjusted for the missing part. You then have every right to cancel your order if you are not happy with the substituted part, which it seems you may have. Has anyone on here taken delivery and been lied too?

Yes I did cancel my order. It was and still is a standard option. BTW, where did you get your law degree? Do your homework before you open your mouth and insert foot.

Again taken off of the Jeep Build and Price web site today. Please read very carefully.

Hahahaha. Don't need a law degree..... just need common sense. You didn't take delivery. They didn't lie to you. What does the build sheet supposed to show? Can you make an order from the website now? Also, might want to read the fine print which usually says that can change things without notification.

Oh, would you look at that (per Jeeps Terms of Use). You should take your own advice and "Do your homework".

As soon as I got the build sheet (when it just got off the line) before shipping. That is when I contacted the dealership and canceled the order. Did not have a shop date. Only completion update. Cannot get a build sheet until unit is built.

why are you trolling?

My dealer just confirmed... My build is now $400 cheaper, now I pushed back asking about retrofitting the eLSD and opened a conversation with JeepCares...

I don't expect it to go anywhere

Hmm does this mean the future resale value of my Summit Reserve goes up drastically since it will be one of the unicorn GCLs WITH factory installed eLSD?

Can someone please help me understand the function of eLSD? I ordered the V8 Summit Reserve (25U) package and I'm wondering what I'll miss if I don't have eLSD. I see some of you have or are planning on cancelling your order so wondering if I'm not going to have something very important. Mine has just entered D1 status so I'm not sure if there is a way to check if mine will coming equipped with it or not.

Sorry for being naive. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me? For context I don't plan on going off-road with my reserve. Just city driving and long road trips. But I'd definitely don't want to lose it's sportiness. Thanks!
