Have them test drive with youYou’d have to think that if the Uconnect system had a recall, the transmission valve body will as well. My servicing dealership is still in denial that the shifting issues aren’t “normal”

Oh they’ve admitted to duplicating the issues, but still claim that it’s normal and still “learning”. I have 6,200 miles on itHave them test drive with you
I would then try taking it to a different dealership, not all of them are sewn from the same cloth. Contact jeepcares about it too and let them know if this issue really bothers you too much, cuz they can and will contact the dealership too.Oh they’ve admitted to duplicating the issues, but still claim that it’s normal and still “learning”. If they address it and find something causing it, please let me know. I've taken mine in a couple of times for this exact thing and the best they can tell me is that it's normal for these nine-speed transmissions to jerk like that. Doesn't seem right, and like you say, it is easy to replicate. replicateHave a service appointment on 12/4 to address a recall (believe it is airbag sensor related) that popped up in my Jeep app and to get the software updates mentioned a few posts ago applied to hopefully address the quality of the downshifts especially between 6>5 and 5>4. I'll post outcomes of service appointment after.
For context, I experience a noticeable jerk/lurch once the trans is at 175 F between these gears, but only on the downshifts and it happens very frequently / easy to replicate. It almost feels like the shifts are not timed up with engine RPMs and there is a 'sticky' feeling to them. So far, upshifts across all gears have been fine and no noticeable shuddering.
Have about 1250 miles on my JGC L Overland.
Have the dealership tech test drive with you before you drop or hand over the car to then so they experience it for themselves . If you’re not satisfied with their response then try going to a different dealership. It’s not a coincidence that my shuddering in shifting completely went away after they replaced my transmission valve body.If they address it and find something causing it, please let me know. Service completed, but no software updates applied to resolve downshift issue. The service advisor said the available RRT for the downshift issues mentioned in a previous post had already been applied to my L given it was built in September 21. The downshift RRT in intended for Ls built pre September 21 is what I was told. Tech also test drove Jeep and was not able to feel the rough downshifts. There were two other updates applied to address a recall and the other update was a RRT (21-169- 21MY) for electronic power steering fault. Will likely be taking to another dealer for a second evaluation as I don't see the quality of the downshifts improving on their own.Have a service appointment on 12/4 to address a recall (believe it is airbag sensor related) that popped up in my Jeep app and to get the software updates mentioned a few posts ago applied to hopefully address the quality of the downshifts especially between 6>5 and 5>4. @JeepCares would appreciate any support on this concern.
It’s a software issue or hardware? If valve bodies are being replaced then it’s seems like a hardware issue. Unless the shifting software is contributing to the valve bodies going bad. It doesn’t quite makes senseMy service advisor shared the following with me today related to how Chrysler is trying to address transmission issues this forum is focused on.
- The dealer has had other JGC Ls come in with transmission issues over last few months
- Valve bodies have been getting replaced to address poor shifting
- Dealer/service team leader has been in close contact with engineer team at Chrysler and they have received information that engineers are actively working on a software update to address poor quality shifting
- No timeline for when software will be released to dealers is available right now
That is crap. I see all over this forum where JeepCares offer to help. But when you reach out to them they ignore you then finally give you some canned BS “answer”. Jeep does not care.We can certainly dig in further with you, kverk88. Send our team a private message with more details to get started.

My third visit for this “normal” issue is on January 11th; with literally 10 other items.1650 miles on mine, doing the exact same thing. Shuttering, double shift, between 1st and 2nd mainly when you are driving slow in traffic. Shutters so hard it scares my wife.
Gonna take it in but I’m sure they will not be able to recreate it. These things usually take at least 2 dealer visits before you wake them up. Sounds like the new valve body will fix it, now just getting them to do it.
Yes. It has for me. Since it only happens when the transmission temp reaches +165 don’t just drop your jeep at the dealership and hand them the keys. By the time they’ll get to it the transmission will cool down and they won’t be able to recreate it. Once you get to the dealership as the rep/tech to go for quick test with you while you drive and recreate the issue for them to observe and document. Those shudders are not normal, one time Ihad a case of bottle beer in the back and it shuddered so bad that i was almost certain I broke a bottle lol1650 miles on mine, doing the exact same thing. I have the same problems this is why I need help here in Florida for my GCL ... I took my car to Miami Lakes Automall and Autonation CDJR and they just said they couldn't replicate the hard shift of the transmission and we don't have any software to solve the problem and for the knocking noise suspension is supposed to be normal ... I drove 2 different GCLs and neither have this f% * + £ ing noise I'm looking for someone who can help me solve my problems ...My third visit for this “normal” issue is on January 11th; with literally 10 other items.
Congrats. Baby steps. LolBrought it in last week for them to look at it. Talked to the service manager this morning and he said transmission tech couldn’t recreate it. I told him it would have to be driven for a half an hour or so before it would do it. He said he would try and get the dealership owner to drive it around this afternoon. He just called back and they were able to recreate it. He is the process of trying to get the valve body ordered and would call me back when he knew how long it would take.
