Here is what my dealer told me yesterday: "They are planning to start build of the 5.7 V8s the week of 9/13, subject to change of course". I told my dealer that there are people already driving their v'8's. So Jeep is not "starting" to build, they have been building them! Will wait and see!!that’s crazy, I ordered early may (received VIN) and still in D. Congrats (I’m jealous)!

so at least I’m getting a similar story from my dealer who just reached out to his factory rep and got the same answer about mid september…said the reason its taking so long is the production rate for summits are very low as they wont make/offer many of them to the public vs the other trims. he said he assumed it could be because there is a lot more chips in a summit then a limited. With dealer orders being accepted for ‘22 models on 3 Sep, and deposits being refundable, I’ve got a good mind to put in a ‘22 SR Hemi order and see which one hits first. 🤔But, are they driving around on production vehicles or demo/review vehicles? I was told the same thing; V8 production was not going to start until August.
I've found some dealers actually have V8s on the lot. Here's one example: https://www.glennfreedomchryslerdod...sport-utility-lexington-ky-1c4rjkdt3m8167948/

looks like a file photo to me. Plus, if it's on Facebook it must be truehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/307540651056073/posts/318105526666252 Owners group on facebook, here is a post of someone with a Summitt V8 and a photo of the engine.
If you know of a way to find a SR Hemi on a lot somewhere, pass it along plz. I’ve been hunting and pecking around google or on the new build site (pretty much manually) without any luck.
awesome, I was worried my issue was that the ran out of baltic grey 🎨Just found out that our BG SR w/Hemi is being painted, I actually saw the screen at the dealer with that info but I contacted Jeep chat and it still shows parts are being gathered.
That matters if you plan on flipping the car. Do the same comparison in 5 years, and it will be less significantJust ran KBB on a 2020 summit vs a 2019 summit, same everything at 10k miles. Trade in Value was $3,676 less for the 2019. So thats a good guess as to the impact on value by taking the end of year from them so late.
The QT2 is all you need. You do not need the eLSD. I've done rocky river beds, beaches, mud bogs, mountain roads, highways in the rain, rock crawling. Never once needed the eLSD. Never got stuck. I do not get why so many people are up in arms about the eLSD. If you are getting the V8, you are already getting beefier diff.I ordered my JGC L Reserve V8 on July 8th, I checked with Jeep chat today and got this message "I am showing all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon. Please reach out to the Selling Dealer as they may have a more accurate date of arrival or status for you." I asked about the eLSD and she said she did not have that info available. Kind of makes me want to cancel and order a 2022 once the eLSD are available again. That said I am using a borrowed car so kind of need a vehicle sooner than later.
