Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

Is anyone else surprised that old model Grand Cherokee will continue as 2022 model or that by dates listed, should be able to currently order the new Grand Cherokee?
Anyone have experience with late model orders? I wonder what will happen to ‘21 orders that haven’t been scheduled (parts allocated)…e.g. will they still be built as ‘21 models or will they be automatically converted to ‘22 orders after 3 September?View attachment 525

yeah I wasn’t sure how to read into that attachment… don’t know if it actually means they will continue producing late models or if it just means that the Jefferson Plant will switch from WK’s to WL’s (same job start date). I’m just guessing.

Bob had mentioned that Jefferson will start producing the WL74.
It would be very surprising they keep producing the WK.
Regarding if they convert to ‘22 I guess it depends if its market or dealer (stock) order.
Are dealers still accepting today special market orders for WL75?
I dont think they can place dealer orders right now for more 2021’s. If they can then those could easily be switched to ‘22 if assembly starts before Nov 1st which is the Job#1 date

My V8 is still in D status. Is there a possibility that I'll be getting the 2022 model?

Are any of you planning on cancelling your order and placing a new order for 2022 model?

There are V8’s already in transit. I really doubt that they will change your current order to 2022. You could check if any of the in transit close to your area are similar to what you order, talk to your dealer.
I would suggest you dont cancel, yours should be shipping this month if you ordered when allocation for V8’s opened. Also, think about this they will probably start 2022 production with the V6’s shipping ahead in November. By the time they get to 22 V8’s who knows when that will be.

Mine is also in D status, ordered July 28th. Considering the VIN is assigned and has an M in the 10th character position - I would not be expecting them to give us a 2022 model.

Canceling and re-ordering has crossed my mind, but I also feel bad for the dealership because they have a limited allocation for how many they could even order to start with, so I'd kind be be screwing them too.

Was told today mine is finally in ship status but no dealer ETA provided. Anyone know how long it typically takes to ship?

Any idea whether there will be a price increase for 2022 models?
That would be a huge mistake, specially on higher models if they get too close to the Wagoneer.
Also a recently launched model that you are trying to get into the market and compete with others already priced lower.
Could happen for lower trim Laredo, that one is really a good bargain for the value it comes with.

Thank you for the response. We have not ordered our V8 yet, but are wondering if we should wait till that early Sept date to order which is when I believe they shift to 2022s. Trying to figure out pros and cons of ordering now vs. waiting a couple of weeks.

I doubt you would get a 2021 even if you ordered today. I ordered mine May 8th and it is not even scheduled to build yet. It was scheduled and then moved back to gathering parts. V8, summit. Who knows if it will ever come in.

Its possible dealers are unable to place orders now.
Anyone here has placed an order in the last 2-3 weeks?

I ordered a 2021 today... Then came here and learned that it isn't coming with eLSD, at least according to my base starting price, so I am going back to dealer to cancel on Monday. I will just wait and order a 2022. Maybe I will change to the 2022 WL74 4xe.
