V8 Orders/Availability?

Has anyone seen a V8 order completed or have any of you seen any unsold dealer inventory V8s? I’ve seen several posts about V8s sitting in D status but I haven’t seen any delivered or sitting on lots. Just wondering if they’re actually being built yet. No one at Jeep seems to know. Thanks!

working hypothesis: Given the chip shortage, Stellantis is making a calculated decision to pump out Hemi Wranglers instead of Cherokees. The Cherokee is the newcomer to the 3-row segment, and delays won’t be as impactful as the it is for the more hard core off road market where the Bronco hopes to disrupt the Wrangler. Jeep made a smart move to offer the V8 to counter, and it appears to be working….but that means they have to deliver. Thoughts?

Hey, kstatecam. The V8 is now in production for the Grand Cherokee L. You can work with your dealer to discuss placing an order if you haven't already. Thanks!

Fyi - I took delivery yesterday of my summit reserve with a v6. So while there I had the sales guy look and he does have 2 custom orders for v8's that have been built and are in shipping. His guess was they will start trickling in mid August with v8's

Anyone seeing any movement on their V8 orders? With 2022s coming up soon I'm thinking of cancelling mine and waiting till things get better.

Just tried calling JeepCares at 1-877-426-5337... wasn't able to pull anything up with my VIN or VON. Just that production was starting end of July... So maybe this is the week it happens

@JeepCares. I was wondering the same thing. I was told multiple times I would receive a call back about my order... guess what...nothing. I think we all would like just something about the status of the V8s!

Yes, @JeepCares ? We would all feel better if someone told us the facts. Being built, not being built, when will they start shipping, when can we plan on receiving etc etc. Thank you so much.

Are we surprised? Nothing but lies and a little bait and switch throwing in.

my suggestion is to do what I did. Cancel the order. There is nothing else to do until @JeepCares stops the lies and be straight and honest. That would go a long way. Wow honesty, what a concept.

I agree @JeepCares. I am going to cancel my order at this point. They lie and lie and lie. I wouldn't care about the delay as much if I could get a straight answer. Not some lie about how the "Jefferson assembly plant is down", or " it should go pretty quick now as this process moves along fast." I just was hung up on the chat with @JeepCares when I pressured them for an answer. I have bought 9 NEW Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram vehicles in the last 9 years. This is not how you treat a customer!

Mine just moved to D1 status today. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Reading some posts on Facebook like the vehicle losing power on freeway is super scary. Worried if I'll get a faulty experimental vehicle that will be both a safety hazard and poor value. @JeepCares hope you are sharing such feedback from users and dealers to the concerned folks. As much as I love to get hold of it I'd like to be sure that it's a safe one to drive around.
