Mine was in shipping status and I just got the window sticker…. The question is gonna be how will we know if ours was affected by flooding?
Jeep is never gonna tell you unless it is truly totally that you were flooded. HOWEVER, we can hoping these are GCs and Durango And that Macl wasn't affected or stockpiling at Jefferson...

This is the frustrating part about how they have launched this model and is due to lack of communication between Jeep and the dealers.
Filtering the Inventory that's on transit at this moment you can see a large portion of Limited have he Lux Tech II package.
Either your dealer lied or the corporate guy they talk to knows nothing, but they could have told you that many of the dealer units have it. Maybe the restriction is for Market (customer) orders but not for dealer orders.
Agreed, looking at the limiteds and a lot have the lux II But what I do see missing from them is the 2nd row bench. Crazy part is when I look at jeeps site for the inventory tracker, within 200 miles of me there are 11 GLC with the lux II and 2nd row bench, add the pano roof that number goes down to 4, add baltic gray and there are none.

I don't understand is Jeep had to know with the limited how popular the Lux II package was probably going to be why did they not alacte more chips to is, unless their plan is to push people to the Overland or Summit which has maybe a higher profit for them

Allocating anything with the current semiconductor market issues is very difficult. So they have to make a choice, restricting the lower trim allows them to use whatever they have on the Overland and Summit trims.
But the issue is not even that, is lack of transparency and communication with their own dealer network. Dealers must know that they were getting a large portion of their Limited with Lux so why make you put a special order if you indicated you wanted that.
Also, is not like that the std Limited without Lux doesnt need chips and semiconductors, so the play here may be to push more stock sales of Limited. Dealers will always prefer you buy from stock than placing special orders.

Ill have to disagree here a bit. The dealers know exactly what they are getting since they placed the initial orders in for the allocations they received. When I went to place an order for GCL, my dealer showed me the POC (Priced order confirmation) for all the GCL's they had ordered and asked if any of them matched what I wanted.

The real question here is, why didn't @dsgcobra dealer show him what they had coming when he went to place an order?

the first dealer I worked with didn't have anything coming in that match what I was looking for. They tried doing an order for me but couldn't add the Lux Tech II package and didnt know why. They kept telling me that it was over the weekend and jeep updates their system, they told me they would look into and get back to me and never did even after me calling them a couple of times. That's when I reached out to a second dealer, they had placed and order for one that matches what I was looking at but the order was is stuck in BG status meaning it can't be scheduled to be built. They also tried putting in another order for my build but are unable to add the Lux Tech II. All the limited builds I'm seeing in my area and even up to 200 mile distance all have Lux with 2nd row captains. We want to get one with the 2nd row bench.

I placed my order in March, Black Summit Reserve. I just chatted with them and received this response:

I am showing that your Grand Cherokee L is in the stage prior to being released by the plant. The vehicle may have been selected for additional quality inspections or held for delivery purposes. At Stellantis, you can be assured that we take vehicle quality seriously.

I asked if it was one of the ones that could have been in the flood:

As a result of the severe storms that came through Detroit on June 25, 25 vehicles were damaged in the flooded shipping yard adjacent to the Jefferson North Assembly Plant. All vehicles will be inspected and based on the severity of the damage, could be scrapped. Those vehicle assessments are ongoing at this time.

I find it hard to believe that only 25 vehicles were damaged in the flood.

Not me, Jeff is MIA.
After being told three times I'd get a call (one rep told they DID call and I didn't answer) I decided to call in myself and the phone rep said "We don't do vehicle tracking follow-up via phone" and I said "I bet Jeff is going to reach out soon then" and thebwoman got quiet for a couple seconds and said "You will be receiving and email from a specialist within 24 hours." That was last Tuesday and I still didn't hear from our pal Jeffy.

I'm in the same spot. I even offered the lady on chat a dozen long stem roses to get it on a transport truck......but even that didn't work. :

That is a canned response about the vehicles that were flooded.
Anyone that asks about this will get the exact same text.
Agree that 25 is low but maybe those were the only ones with the water up to the roof :cautious:
Sorry about this, I would be also concerned that they may push out some units because the water damager was not as severe.

I got a phone call from my dealer today that my summit reserve is scheduled to arrive tomorrow to the dealership. I guess I’ll Believe it when I see it but exciting nonetheless.

It’s hard to tell from the limited photos/videos available, but many of the SUV’s pictured seem like Durangos. I’m sure a few Jeep’s were affected but I’m not convinced that the damage was an entire yard of GCL’s just yet. I’m sure legal was involved in any statement being made about the flood via Jeep Care. I’d bet the 25 number is closer to the truth, although other holdover lots elsewhere in the area aren’t being discussed yet either.

^I agree with this. I see a lot of Durangos and Two row GC in that photo. Thankfully this happened a few days after all of the transporters left and not a few days before. My dealer just called and said he's got a limited being unloaded right now that I can come see in the morning if I want. It's their first one and I've yet to see one in person.
