Ordered my V8 on May 3, VIN assigned on May 10, and mine has not even started production yet. Still gathering parts to schedule production. After a VIN is assigned, how long will it take to get shipped? This is a V8 - so not sure if they are even planning on manufacturing this.
Same boat here, we ordered about a week before you.Ordered my V8 on May 3, VIN assigned on May 10, and mine has not even started production yet. Still gathering parts to schedule production.
👍🏼 ThanksCongratulations on the very nice looking GCL. I also ordered White.
I ordered a V8 Summit Reserve yesterday. After watching a few reviews, I'm now a little worried. I see reviewers comparing the GC-L to a Telluride and also bashing it's fuel economy figures.
The V8 seems to be less fuel efficient and I'm now wondering if I should cancel my order and wait for a more efficient engine to be added to the options in the future.
Others who ordered a V8 and one of the top trims. Do you share similar concerns?
I’ve seen most folks take 2-3 weeks once they reach D1 post launch. D1 is also when you get a build date so that plus transit time should give you a pretty good indication.I have an altitude ordered. It moved to D1 status today. Anyone knows what I should see it? Ordered it about 2 months ago now.

Thanks! Any updates on your order yet?I ordered Summit Reserve V8, not worried about the fuel mileage, just want the thing to have enough power to pull my boat and trailers up over mountains without concerns.
I think if you wait for a more efficient V8 you might be waiting years for something that may not ever come. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 4xe in the coming years instead to get the power gains and economy.
The difference of 17mpg vs 21mpg => 4mpg at $3/gallon... over the course of 100k miles is $3,361. I do under 10k miles/year, so that $3k is spread over 10+ years, so we are only talking about a $336/year difference in fuel costs. (Environmental impacts of course are not included, but I think most people focus on the direct financial costs when they try to 'bash fuel economy figures').
A $15k savings with a lower trim model however... buys 5k gallons of fuel... and at 20mpg (for easy math) you can drive the entire 100k miles ;-) (not including the compound interest you could get by having the majority of that $15k in an investment during that time)
V6. Can’t get v8 in Laredo model
Awesome, thank you. My dealer checks on mine every other day since they also have 3 on order for inventory. They said there’s hasn’t even gotten a vin yet. They ordered limited with v6s. Maybe it was too fresh on D1 to get any kind of dates. Makes me feel hopeful though!I’ve seen most folks take 2-3 weeks once they reach D1 post launch. I will spare you folks the motivation, rationale, and heartache involved in the process. We ordered a Summit with the HEMI(v8) in early May. Got a VIN within a few days and into D status in 2 weeks. Its been sitting there ever since. Finally, last week we canceled our order and picked up a V6 Summit Reserve that our local dealer got. So far, happy with it as I learn and adjust to all the features, but the heart still thinks back to the V8 that never was...
