Just spoke to my dealer today. Ordered my Summit Reserve (v6, white w/ black roof and black interior, black side steps, purchase price $64,200) back on 4/7 and it has just shipped from the factory. It will be on a train until 7/19 and then be transported to CT with an expected dealer arrival date of 7/23. The same dealer also today just received their first Overland trim GCL that was an allotment car.

About 14 weeks from ordered to delivery.

Hello everyone!

Ordered a Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve V8 in May. It has been sitting in D status for well over a month. No one is any help on the Jeep Chat and the dealer doesn't know anything. I have noticed reading posts that NO one seems to be getting any V8s in. Anyone know what is up with the V8s? Anyone have a V8 in D1 or later? My dealer originally told me 5 weeks and jeep chat told me 7-9 weeks. We are going on 9 weeks shortly here...

I hear ya. I am in the same situation (except I ordered the Summit V8, not Reserve). No clue about a thing other than a VIN being assigned to it. Getting some heavy pressure to suck it up and get any available V6 that shows up in the local dealership and cancel the order 😩

Ordered my V8 on May 3, nothing has ever changed on my status. Always "gathering parts to build it". Jeff is no help. Jeep is no help. It is so frustrating, I can't beleive that no one knows who to call. Someone in the company has to know what the plan is with building v-8s. Why can no one get in touch with the right person???

When I chatted in to Jeep earlier this week, I did get an extra tidbit of info in the canned response. Typically the rep says "the parts are being scheduled". This time Maurice told me "the parts have been scheduled and your jeep should go into production shortly. Your vehicle had parts that were effected by the global chip shortage but the factory has obtained the necessary parts now and will be able to work at full capacity." I am of course paraphrasing but I wonder if the HEMIs had a different BCM that they couldn't get chips for? Maybe they only had a few chips for it and they put them in all the tester vehicles for the press? I don't know guys....

They have definitely made them. If you watch the redline reviews and you looks at the GCLs that have gone to the autoshows, they all have the HEMI.

Mine was in shipping status and I just got the window sticker…. The question is gonna be how will we know if ours was affected by flooding?
How did you get the window sticker? Mine is supposedly in transit, and I haven't received any window sticker.

I was told by my dealer that his rep said the flooding only affected 25 units. I assume this is the Jeep GC L and more than 25 vehicles were affected.

My GCL Limited I found on the dealer floor with the add-on of Xzilon interior/exterior protection. With all the extra add-ons, MSRP was over $1900.
I know they can do this, but I wasn’t going to pay for this all. It only took 30 mins of back and forth calls/texts for them to include these items with MSRP pricing. I was ok with that since I was stuck in a bad situation for a car.
My question is, how can I prove they actually applied these treatment? They did not give me the warranty info on the protection package since they “threw it in”.
he said, she said?
Happy nonetheless. 😎

Dealers like this would never again get my business again. Then the next vehicle purchase. I would consider another Brand.

This. Xzilon is garbage when compared to a simoniz or ceramic coating. Regardless of have a warranty, if it's junk, you're just warranting junk. You used to be able to buy a bottle on Amazon of xzilon for $30 that was safe for interior and exterior use. Anyone who knows anything about protecting surfaces knows you would never at a molecular level use the same think on leather and carpet as you would on paint.

Dealer shouldn't have earned the business and this encourages then to get away with it more.

With that said, congrats on the new jeep man.

Has anyone placed an order for a Laredo or the Altitude trims or is everyone who is really excited going for the higher level trims? I'm a fan of the Altitude's styling big time and don't feel I need some of the upgraded features on higher trims.
I didn’t “technically” place an order, but just left dealer earlier today with a deposit placed on an Altitude that was shipped out from Canada on July 5th set to arrive sometime in the next few weeks fingers crossed.

Its honestly very frustrating. Over the Jeep chat I told the lady I wanted my case escalated and she immediately did so. I also mentioned to her I don't want a generic email from "Jeff". She didn't seem too helpful after that. I would appreciate an actual answer either way. The same response over and over again is getting old...

I found from a dealer that they had received a Summit R (V6),So obviously I raced there to try it out. First impressions, it did not disappoint. Drives great, fairly quiet, very luxurious feel, and fabulous Macintosh sound. Downside, dealer said they are marking up $20K .
I was walking away when they took some long discussion to figure out it was a"typo", and it should have been ONLY $10K markup! Needless to say I walked away (their "deal" of ONLY 7K over MSRP wasn't doing it for me.)
If you want to visit these guys to get their once in a lifetime deal or let your friends & family in on the secret, visit Puente Hills CJDR in City of Industry CA LA area).
