Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

Thanks Stephen!

I haven't been successful at getting a dealer to quote below MSRP. Maybe I need to get the treadlightly membership.
Np. Today I stopped into a different dealership that had the only Baltic grey around me as I mentioned earlier, and the sales guy I talked to said on a customer order they're marking up about $1,000 over sticker, and on the lot they are doing somewhere between MSRP and $500 over.

I remember when my brother ordered a new shelby mustang when they did the redesign and offered the dealer 5k over sticker and had to fight tooth and nail to get them to take the deal....

Hate to see dealers run their shop like that. At least in SC there are a few dealers who are pretty up front about offering at invoice. If you’re willing to drive (to SC or other dealers that are closer), you may find more options. I’d be happy to send you my guy’s info if SC in close to home for ya.

Hate to see dealers take advantage of customers like this. I know the Kia Tellurides are being marked up 3k on top of MSRP too but I was hoping Jeep dealers won’t do that with GCL.
My dealer in NJ was upfront and told me he will sell to me at the Factory Wholesale Price (FWP) which is about 3k less than MSRP for Summit Reserve.

I live in the Midwest. I went to 7 different dealers an finally struck a deal for 4% under sticker on a Summit. This is about $2500.00 off of sticker. I also received what I wanted for a trade. This is on one I just ordered on 6/30. I gave them my trade on 7/1. Now just have to wait 8-12 weeks.

Just got a call from my dealership and my reserved L is at their distribution center and should arrive at the dealership in 5-7 business days!! I'm so excited. Mainly bc now I know they're starting to arrive in SO Florida!

I didn't order one. Once my dealership got their orders I had called and put a deposit/hold on a specific one that was arriving with everything I wanted.

Ahhh I see . My summit has been finished since end of may but has yet to ship. Really frustrating. Hope yours really does arrive when they say! :)

Agreed. I ordered my summit reserve back in May and dealer gave me about invoice pricing. Couldn't believe this guy told me they're selling over sticker. I guess it's all about what it's worth to the person, but on a 3 year lease, that's $100 a month on these things!

My suggestion to everyone being asked for MSRP or even higher: SHOP around, don't settle.
I understand is convenient to work with the closest dealer for maintenance or everything else, but no reason to pay more than you should.

Regarding the FCA affiliate program, if you notice all dealer quotes have that price printed for the GCL. See attached picture
If you are a member of the program and the dealer participates (they can decide not to be part of the program), they have to give you the FFP level.

Major part of what has happened with Tellurides or Palisades is for KIA to be blamed. Intentionally or not, they have not been able to meet the market demand for 2 years now, creating the condition for dealers to ask whatever they want.
Now that that's the status quo, dealers will be pissed if KIA starts producing more units and they have to start selling like most brands, lower than MSRP.
I would hope Jeep doesn't allow this to become the standard.
As much as we like Jeep, there is plenty of competition out there to pay MSRP for a $40-67K vehicle.

jeep is not moving on the incentives.I was able to get mine on the ffp plan because a friend of mine worked at jeep plant. Hopefully I can get the dealership to knock off a couple hundred bucks to buy rubber floor mats.

I have an affiliate code and am not having any luck on dealers honoring it for incoming stock in my area. The one that agreed stated they would do it for a factory order only. I'm hoping once they're on the lot and I'm at the dealership in person, that may change. Things tend to be a different story when you're on the phone talking about a car that's a few weeks from arriving versus standing in front of the car willing to buy on the spot. I'm looking for an Overland spec'd exactly like eslabito so I'm hoping they'll be willing to move a little.

Good for you. Incentives is another topic. Right now the only incentives for GCL are Lease and APR. Don't expect any cash incentives anytime soon.

Where are you located?
If they are dealers participating in the program not sure if they can restrict their own stock, maybe because these are the first units they are getting it is not in their best interest to use the stock at FFP level. Under normal circumstances they are happy to sell their stock under affiliate pricing. But at least you are able to get the FFP if you place an order!
I have not placed my Overland order yet, when I do it will be exactly as the screenshot I pasted but White exterior. I have been waiting until they add the two tone option for this trim. This will supposedly happen when the next allocation window opens, which could be this week on Thursday.

I'm in eastern PA. One local dealer I spoke to said they heard the L wasn't available for affiliate pricing. I e-mailed FCA and they said it was. When I reached back out to the original dealer, they ignored me. I'd respect them more if they were upfront like the other dealers and said they weren't honoring it because of supply chain issues and high demand. I was also surprised that dealers can arbitrarily decide not to honor a valid affiliate code. The fine print on the FCA affliate website says, "The Preferred Price is the maximum amount that can be charged by a participating U.S. dealer for an eligible vehicle." It sounds like if a dealer decides to participate in the program, they have to honor a valid code.

Around the DFW area it's common to add several thousand in dealer BS to pad their pockets. But the GCLs themselves are mostly selling at MSRP. Some dealers don't add the extra crap so those are the only ones I will deal with but I've yet to find one selling for less then MSRP unfortunately. They are giving me a pretty good amount for my trade though so there is that. Only $300 less then I paid for it 7m ago and after 12k miles.

I would ask the dealership to prove they filled the tires with Nitrogen. Once they figure out a way to prove it’s 100% nitrogen, you ask them to empty out all the nitrogen, fill it with your air pump and take the car straight to Costco where they give you free nitrogen fill for tires 😂. Then use the $495 you saved to buy 3 of these…

Not just that, but the xzilon sanitation of the interior and the jm&a etching! The etching literally has news stories about how jm&a and a California autonation dealer were fined 2.6 million for shady business because it's $37 for the dealer to have all the glass etched and they were charging $2k!

Anyways.... I'm off to buy a new pool float that I just found out exists....
