Intermittent Power Steering Unavailable

Your dealer gave you 100% back of what you paid for the vehicle? My dealer offered me 58k on my 71k priced car at 600 miles when my problems started. They then gave me the 800 number to jeep to fend for myself. Jeep has approved the buyback, but still yet to have a number or timeline to get the check. They gave me a CDI number to get employee pricing on a 22 model year which arrives any day. The price will be more than the 21 I paid even with the discounts due to the higher MSRP now. Torn to take the 22 if its still gonna be anightmare!
100%. I never paid a penny. I put 0 down and they paid it off before my first payment was due. I, personally, would not accept a 2022 at this time. Not till it’s proven to be reliable.

Talked to the dealer today. They are willing to purchase the car and I would pocket about $2400. However, I put down $5k and figure I am due back $4400 after 3 months. They said I can talk to corporate to see if they will refund any of my past monthly payments to make up the difference..... will update soon.
I agree you should be made whole. So your payment times 3 plus $5000 minus the $2400 you net out on your “sale” to the dealer. Good luck! It should all work out in due time with your efforts.

Dealer called last thursday and said an engineer came out to personally install the fix. I am still pursuing a buy-back but will pick up the car today. Will update here if issue comes back.

I just came from the dealer. The new update came out Nov. 23. (TSB) #08-035-22 (RSU) Rapid Service update #22-032. For build dates before November 17 2021. My appointment is for Tuesday.

Typically on the first start of the day on cold days. Once you're driven awhile and restarted later it doesn't come on. But to be clear, you can't start it and restart it again right away, hoping the light will go off and the steering will be working correctly. It has to run for awhile.

Yes, this is the same as mine. I can sit and wait after the first start for it to reset... probably 5-10 minutes in the morning and it will go off.
I guess I will see on Wednesday - that is frustrating that it doesn't work.
What are your next steps?

Im going for it today. It's only happened a couple times for us. Both times first startup in the morning but in the garage heated to 50 degrees. The first time was at 5,000 miles. I'm just hoping this update doesn't make it worse.

I'm headed in this afternoon - I'm hoping this is the fix!

Playing the waiting game. I love the vehicle besides this issue. The dealer's service director's son is having the same issue so that helps me from a priority standpoint. Unfortunately, we are at FCA's mercy.

Dealer called and said it is fixed now with a software update. The only problem is it isn't cold here anymore, so I will have no way of knowing if this is truly fixed until next year or if it randomly gets really cold again.

My GCL has about 1400 miles but I took it in to the dealership for other unrelated electrical issues they couldn't fix but they did a software update on the power steering. I had no issues with it before so I am not sure if it fixes the issue or not but you might want to check with the dealership so they can do the software update.
