In car WiFi doesn’t turn on

Anyone else having issues with the cars Wi-Fi just not working? I can’t get it to turn on. Already signed up for a free trial with AT&T but the Wi-Fi in car won’t turn on. Can’t use Alexa and the weather app doesn’t give any data.

Tried hitting the “Activate Services” icon in the app drawer but it just spins for a few minutes and says no data connection.

Mine is similar thought I have not signed up for service or a trial so I assumed this was the behavior rather than saying something like “you need to sign up for service”....in stead it just doesn’t allow to turn on.

Supposed the new software update will rectify this issue according to Jeep Cares, but I have yet to see it actually work from talking with some other owners. I’ve had this issue since the first week ownership. The wifi should turn on wether you’ve signed up for the trial or not.

I had the same issue. People said the new software fixed it, but mine started working just before the update.

Have you guys tried doing a factory reset? I’m tempted to try it but worried I’ll lose something like off road pages as a consequence.

Yes I’ve tried that, but to no avail. I go in next weekend for the update since the cellular service doesn’t work to be able to get the over the air update. Hopefully it’ll work but I don’t have much faith.

I’ve had the update and mine still struggles. It won’t let me enable or enter network name/password for the WiFi.

additionally the screen to connect to a home WiFi network in order to update is glitchy and I can’t enter the password as the keyboard doesn’t pop up.

I connected mine to the WiFi in the car so it is always connected, even when driving around.

When I set up my WiFi for the first time, I couldn't do it from within the vehicle so I activated it directly from my AT&T online-account. That worked without any issue.

I signed up for the 3 month trial online but still can’t get my car screen to allow me to enable it or set anything up. That is stupid.

Considering this car costed me 64k, I’m grossly disappointed. I’ve got a laundry list of issues and have only had the car for only a month. Ridiculous.

I had a similar issue with my GCL a week after taking delivery. I activated the service with AT&T and was able to successfully connect a couple of devices, but then suddenly, everything stopped working, could not see the WiFi hotspot's password anymore, so even though the hotspot was working (previous connected devices were fine) I could not add new ones, remote services stopped working as well as emergency calls.
I opened a ticket with Jeep (or uconnect can't remember) customer care and they gave me a couple of calls, after a week or so I got a notification in my phone from the Jeep app that services had been updated, after that, everything has been working as expected.
My guess is that because they now have two different systems (Uconnect 5 and Uconnect 4) and services are not the same for each they might be activating the wrong profiles because I do remember at first having the market app not working, calling customer care to fix it and everyhting breaking after. Once they fixed everyhting, the market app was gone and I read somewhere that the app has been discontinued for these models.

Just got off the phone with Jeep Connect technical support. He did confirm that another update that will fix this issue along with the “Assist” and “SOS” buttons not working.
He said the patch is in validation phase now and will be released “soon” to dealers.

Update.
My trouble ticket with the jeep/unconnect team has led to a phone call where they tell me there is an update coming out soon which is not for my problem, but “may” fix it.

No estimate on when it will come out. No intention to inform me of when it comes out. No intention to further look into my issue.

that is all.

The cellular connection, WiFi hotspot, SOS and Support calling feature, EARS function, over the air software updates, Sirius streaming and many other features have not worked in my vehicle since the day I took delivery in early August. Numerous conversations with Wave, Sirius, UConnect support did no good as they don't even understand the problem. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times because the Star Hotline technicians keep requesting more data downloads. Nothing has diagnosed nor repaired the problem. The recall did not fix this problem. Now we are waiting for a brand new radio to replace the one that was factory installed. From the quantity of problems reported in this forum and others this is obviously a widespread issue. Why is Stellantis putting the repair of this problem on the backburner? It deserves emergency attention
