HUD not showing Speed Limit

Have you turned on the advanced display feature in the HUD settings itself? There are 3 choices, basic, standard and advanced. Once I set to advanced it worked.View attachment 956
That's interesting. Speed limit only showing up when the Advanced layout option is selected. According to the owner's manual, Speed Limit should be displayed in ALL the layout options.

I have the same issue but only intermittently. Some days it works - other times it doesn't. Support services have no idea how to correct this
Do you have an Overland? I assume you are referring to the Speed Limit showing up intermittently, correct?

FWIW, I have an overland with Advanced ProTech III and it does not display the speed limit in the HUD even when “advanced” is selected. I would love it if there were a way to get the speed limit to show up in the HUD. That said, the speed limit often shows up on the main (uConnect) screen at the lower right.

I have the HUD set to Advanced and can see all of the other indicators except the speed limit. I've trolled every single setting and can't find what I need to do to activate that feature. Does anyone have a solution?
I have called the Jeep wave helpline and returned to the dealer for assistance with the speed limit I'm the HUD. The Jeep wave guy told me it was a "missimg component " it would be studied and they would let me know when it was available. That was August. Still nothimg. Everyone at the dealership tried to get it to display, no luck. I have an overland, and the owner's manual clearly states that the speed limit is in each of the display options. What do we have to do to get this fixed?

Good luck. I have spent countless hours trying to get to the bottom of this problem including,
  1. Speaking with countless people at Jeep Wave, including supervisors.
  2. I finally got them to pass along my case to the buyback department.
  3. I've had the dealer look at the issue multiple times. Their answer, as well as Jeep Care had to do with the word "Can" in the description which speaks to the Speed Limit being displayed.

The following is what I sent Jeep last week.

It is and has been my contention that the information provided by multiple documented sources, all of which are authored or originated from Jeep make clear that the following features are and should be included in the Advanced ProTech Group III option, which my Overland includes. It should also be noted that EVERY salesperson I have spoken with, including the ones responsible for ordering vehicles, have ALL said the same thing, that my vehicle should include the missing option.

Head-Up Display

  • Jeep.com website
    • “The HUD can display speed limit, vehicle speed, Navigation, incoming text messages, vehicle information and safety alerts.”
  • Jeep Owner’s Manual
    • “Content and Layout (page 102)
      • Simple: Speed, Speed Limit
      • Standard: Speed, Speed Limit, Navigation
      • Advanced: Speed, Speed Limit, Navigation, Driver assist, (ACC/Cruise, Active Lane Management, Gear” Incoming text message is missing?
      • “Advanced Mode
        • When “Advanced” mode is selected, the HUD displays the vehicle speed, turn-by-turn navigation, speed limit, driver-assist function(s), and current gear.
          • Custom 1: Speed, Speed Limit
          • Custom 2: Speed Limit missing custom options
          • Custom 3: Speed, Speed Limit, Navigation, Driver assist, (ACC/Cruise, Active Lane Management, Gear”
  • Mopar YouTube Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxAg-sVaF9s)
    • The video shows the Speed Limit in the HUD and demonstrates how to configure the Custom options (from Advanced Layout)
    • There is no mention or disclaimer that any of the features described in the video may or may not be available in your vehicle.
My vehicle is missing all the items highlighted above in yellow.

Jeep’s Position Regarding the Missing Speed Limit

The position that Jeep is espousing hangs on their interpretation of the word “can” which is that the word “can” is meant to imply that the stated feature may or may not in fact be included in your particular vehicle. Which then raises the question, how would one go about getting an accurate list of features that their particular vehicle may or may not have?

To test Jeep’s interpretation, I decided to do an experiment which included replacing the word CAN with what Jeep claims is the correct interpretation “may or may not

Advanced ProTech Group III

  • Head-Up Display
    • The HUD can display speed limit, vehicle speed, Navigation, incoming text messages, vehicle information and safety alerts.”
    • Let’s replace the word CAN with “may or may not” in the sentence above
      • The HUD may or may not display speed limit, vehicle speed, Navigation, incoming text messages, vehicle information and safety alerts.”
    • TRANSLATION: Potentially none of the six listed items will be displayed in the HUD.
  • Surround View Camera System
    • …drivers can also select different camera views, including front and rear cross path views.
    • …drivers may or may not also select different camera views, including front and rear cross path views.
    • TRANSLATION: It should be understood that depending on your particular vehicle, the driver may not be able to switch camera views.
Luxury Tech Group IV

  • Passenger Seat Memory
    • “With the memory feature, your passenger can save his/her customized settings for the power front passenger seat.
    • “With the memory feature, your passenger may or may not save his/her customized settings for the power front passenger seat.
It is my sincerest hope that the examples that I provided above make it clear that Jeep’s interpretation of what the word “can” means is misguided.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
  • An explanation, including documentation for why my Jeep’s HUD does not offer the Custom layout option (HUD Layout Setting = Advanced) that is described in the Owner’s manual (page 102).
  • An explanation, including documentation for why my Jeep’s HUD does not display text message notifications.
  • An acknowledgment that my Jeep should include all the missing features that I have listed.
  • Fix my Jeep so that it includes the missing features or buy it back.

Same issue here. Overland trim with HUD. No speed limit on it, nor on the digital map. It is on the middle console, just not anywhere else. Everything I read regarding the package purchased shows that it should be present.

There's a couple people with Overlands where the Speed Limit is displayed in the HUD. Wonder if this was halted after a particular build date...

I bought my overland a week ago. There is no speed limit or custom option. If there is a petition to sign to fix this. Count me in!

Less y th han a week old for us as well. No speed limit on the HUD or the navigation in the digital cluster. It is in the middle console but majority of the limits are all wrong. 50 in a 30 mph zone that has been 30 for the 15 years we’ve lived here.

Update. I have filed a complaint with my states Attorney General's office. They have responded and are in discussions with the dealership. The dealership's operations manager reached out and asked that I stop by to show her what's missing. I did that, and like everyone else that I have dealt with at Jeep, she was surprised that the features were missing.

Deleted to prevent confusion as I have a Summit Reserve trim as another pointed out, this thread is Overland only.

Is this still an issue for Overland owners? Is the speed limit showing in the HUD or main cluster display?

No speed limit in my HUD, even when my nav and Uconnect were mostly working for the first couple days of ownership. Now my whole electrical system is so FUBAR I expect nothing to work, but I will follow up with them about this as they (hopefully) get things functioning again.

So when did Jeep decided it was only Summit that would get the speed limit?
All the info available shows that this would also be included in the Adv pro tech for Overland

I don't buy it. The info is in the nav system, and they advertised it, and it's such a stupidly small thing to use as 'leverage' to justify the upsell... Everyone should be provided that info if you have a nav system and the top shelf tech package to boot. The info is there, it's stupid to think they would write a few extra lines of code to block if from appearing?!?
