Bought Last Night and Taking in for Service Already Today

Talked to the dealer and they think it was a software update that did not get installed on mine at the factory that keeps triggering the service 4wd light. They are working with Jeep engineering now to confirm if that's what the issue is. It sounds like what they told my wife on Friday when we brought it in for the initial service light But it still came back the next day so well see. They also said they did an update on the radio.
Update on the radio? Last week I heard there was no updates for the radio, hopefully that means there is something that just came out.

The radio still seems glitchy, I did finally get CarPlay to connect and get the steering wheel controls to work but I had to be plugged in. Couldn’t get it to work at all wirelessly. I’ll update if it cuts out again.

That’s what I’ve heard but ours has come back twice now. Did you feel the front wheels binding up at all when it was on going around turns? That’s my bigger concern. My wife’s taking it now to get looked and they are giving us loaner while they look it over.
I've had no other issues at all. 1400 miles on it now.

Go wired. It’s the preferable method: less power drain, better sound, faster response.
I did when I go wired is when the steering wheel skip button I’ve noticed stops working. That’s what happened tonight. Got in the car and it instantly connected to wireless car play. Stopped to get gas and then it wouldn’t connect wirelessly any more so I plugged in and the steering wheel controls stopped working. So I stopped and unplugged and replugged it in a couple times and they started working again.

It seems like it’s when the car shuts off for a short time, like getting gas is when I’ve noticed it having a hard time reconnecting wirelessly. I wonder if it’s not cycling all the way off or something and that’s causing the issue.

I’ve noticed the same issue with wireless having issue reconnecting after a power cycle - and my skip buttons (left side of wheel) don’t work with some of the music apps I use either when wired. Software updates should fix this.

The dealer did the update this week Worked good for a day or so but then came back.
At this point do you have any confidence in Jeep and their ability to fix these issues with the GCL? Mine has been in the shop since Tuesday. In five weeks of ownership I have been with my car7 days and no clue when I am getting it back. meanwhile, I am making a car payment on a vehicle I paid a lot o money for to be driving a rental- that does not have features my Jeep has like leather and sunroof.

Am I foolish to think much of this is Jeep does not have the proper chips to run the software?

At least you are saving the miles on your new one?

So far the service 4wd light hasn’t come back since they did the updates on it. The radio is still buggy but we’ve been tracking it and it seems to only have issues when it’s turned off and turned back on in a short period of time so hopefully that’s a patchable fix. I’m frustrated with it but it’s also a brand new model so it’s bound to have some issues. Luckily these are small but I plan to keep pushing jeep to get some patches out, like others have said the more of us that have these issues hopefully the quicker the fix.

This vehicle was not road ready. Too many bugs and it appears many are tied to software and chips and we all know now they had issues obtainign chips.

Similar to mine.

Start/Stop did not actually start working until I hit over 1000miles.. its been doing ok for now (I think)
Acceleration was a TSB issue (different form the service 4wd)
Radio....I will have issues with this freezing, going silent and there is no update and the dealer told me there is nothing they can do!? How about just replace the POS? :)
Jeep Cares asked for info and still have not heard much back from them about it.

I have never had issues with my 3 GC's or 3 Wranglers. My wife still has a 2020 Bikini Blue Rubicon Recon and loves it, we have no issues with it.
But this GCL... a lot of issues and running to the dealer wasting my time is not what I expect from a $50k vehicle, I even had a door skin pop and all they did was bend it back.... I know its new but come on.... :)

Other then that I do love it. I just want it all to work properly.
What TSB did you have done for acceleration issue?

Driving it now feels like it’s binding up when turning
Have you checked for leaks on the steering rack by chance? Mine looks like it’s seeping fluid. If yours is low on fluid this could cause the binding when turning. See photo. If you look straight down under the hood and locate the pulley on the RH side, this black cover sits below it. It’s the top of the steering rack.
