Bought Last Night and Taking in for Service Already Today

Just picked up a Limited L last night and the service 4wd light just came on with 45 miles on the clock, 3rd time driving. Taking it to get scanned now, hopefully something minor.

Driving it now feels like it’s binding up when turning
This is horrible. Mine is also in for service only 130 miles on it. Some type of oil is all over the brake rotor and wheel. I’m wishing Jeep would just give me another new one, I didn’t pay $50k to have it torn apart after 100 miles. Ugh.

I’m thinking we’re going ask them to swap the car back we traded in on Monday. The car play doesn’t work half the time even when plugged it and the radio has been freezing up any time we try to connect. I love jeep but I think I jumped the gun on buying a new model.

Same thing with my 2019 DT... Within 6 months they had worked out all the issues and through various upgrades the truck became flawless. I'd say give it time but that is obviously your call.

I think it's good that many of us have been having the same issues; that means the source is the same: software.

I hear you, if we were weren’t having a baby in less than a month I’d be more inclined to stick it out but we had an issue free 2020 Durango before the Cherokee l that worked fine I just really liked the new look of the interior on the Cherokee l and the captains chairs versus the bench we had is much more useful. I’m torn on it still but I don’t want to have my wife deal with lugging a new born into the dealer every couple weeks while they tweak the software on these.

Had the same issue at 700 miles. Cleared on its own.
That’s what I’ve heard but ours has come back twice now. Did you feel the front wheels binding up at all when it was on going around turns? That’s my bigger concern. My wife’s taking it now to get looked and they are giving us loaner while they look it over.

With all of the issues that Jeep has. My only suggestion is when the survey comes out to be honest. If you Jeep has spent more time at the dealership then on the road. Put that down. Give Jeep the score that they are deserving. Do not, no matter how ticked off you are. Give them a score that they are not deserving. Be honest and be truthful. If you received a vehicle you did not order. Take it and just smile. Then give them the score that they are deserving. Even though they did not tell you that they were taking standard features off.

It will be worth it in the long run.

Started a case with Jeep, so far i haven’t received a survey from them. I’m actually really happy with the dealer they’ve been great to work with. I’m less happy with jeep, the service advisor said they have been seeing an influx in jeeps in with chip/electronic issues since the chip shortage has been going on. Sounds like they take what they can get which I get it just makes me worried about long term issue on them. My other vehicle is a 20’ gladiator and it hasn’t had any issues in the year I’ve had it I’m really happy with it.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited owner here.Mine going back for the 4th time tomorrow. All the issues mentioned above plus the RPM goes to 4-5 when driving 35-40. Same when decelerating. I am pursuing the Lemon law. lane assist shuts off, alarms sound saying to put my hands onthe wheel. My hands were on the darn wheel. I do not feel safe in this vehicle. I felt safer in my 2013 Pathfidner with 115K less issues. I paid a lot for a vehicle with too many issues. May ask the dealer to give me my money back as they sold my trade in. My first Jeep. Not pleased.
Lane assist inconsistently works. Steve told me it was the ezpass in the window causing the issue. Well the ezpass is not in the window and this feature intermittently works.

The Start/Stop does not work- no matter the temperature. It worked once where it showed it was working on the drivers instrument panel.

I have received an alarm 4 times, most recently Monday “place hands on steering wheel” All times my hands were firmly on the steering wheel. When the alarm sounds it also shuts off the lane assist (the red light turns on the display above the Uconnect screen showing lane assist is off)

The outlet in the back console does not supply power neither with engine on or off.

At low acceleration the RMP gauge goes to 4 (like driving 35-40 mph). Same on deceleration.

Radio intermittently goes silent

Friday when driving a brief flash about something about the brake appeared in the instrument panel

I too have no issues with the dealership, but Jeep on the other hand. I am pissed. I get bounced from person to person and case manager Lisa hung up on me today, this after "Betty" was so rude I asked for a supervisor. Well "Betty" provided a false name. The customer care case manager I was actually getting somewhere with was removed from my case without explanation. He told me Jeep was going to make my car payment given the issues and time I have been without my vehicle. Now I am told that cannot happen.

This is my first Jeep and I am not impressed with the company at all. At this point I am ready to drive this lemon to the dealership and demand a check for all I paid for this piece of junk.

Similar to mine.

Start/Stop did not actually start working until I hit over 1000miles.. its been doing ok for now (I think)
Acceleration was a TSB issue (different form the service 4wd)
Radio....I will have issues with this freezing, going silent and there is no update and the dealer told me there is nothing they can do!? How about just replace the POS? :)
Jeep Cares asked for info and still have not heard much back from them about it.

I have never had issues with my 3 GC's or 3 Wranglers. My wife still has a 2020 Bikini Blue Rubicon Recon and loves it, we have no issues with it.
But this GCL... a lot of issues and running to the dealer wasting my time is not what I expect from a $50k vehicle, I even had a door skin pop and all they did was bend it back.... I know its new but come on.... :)

Other then that I do love it. I just want it all to work properly.

I do not feel safe in this vehicle at all. I have over a 1000 miles on it. I test drove a red velvet for almost a week, no issues with that one. I dd not like the color and knew a black one was coming in. Test drove and bought the black one. Almost immediately after buying issues started.

If I do the lemon law they have to replace with the same vehicle. I am not sure I want to continue with Jeep this has been a nightmare. Exploring the buy back program but I am not going to lose a ton of money on this lemon. I need a reliable vehicle as I am taking my mom back ad forth for chemotherapy. I have enough stress in life without the headache of this BRAND NEW vehicle.

Jeep Cares agent hung up on me today.

Talked to the dealer and they think it was a software update that did not get installed on mine at the factory that keeps triggering the service 4wd light. They are working with Jeep engineering now to confirm if that's what the issue is. It sounds like what they told my wife on Friday when we brought it in for the initial service light But it still came back the next day so well see. They also said they did an update on the radio.
