Who has ordered a 2022 GCL?

I was wondering when you ordered your 2022 GCL from your dealer and what the dealer told you about approximate delivery timeline??

I ordered on Wednesday (11/24). It’s a Summit trim with bench seat and V6. As of early this morning I’m still in C, a bit shocked it didn’t go quickly to D and get a VIN. The dealer did t specify timing anymore than the standard/generic 6-8 weeks.

Mine may not be the best example of timing moving forward as I expect it to get fast tracked. They should be scheduling it this week and having it bumped to the front. If I’m lucky I’ll have it before end of year.

My '21 BG SR V8 ordered Aug 9th, switched to a MY22 mid Oct, still no VIN, in BX status. I hear they're not starting '22 builds until early Dec., keep in mind that is only hear say. Only Jeep knows what is going on, how they are building and what and when builds are shipping out.

Just ordered a 2022 GCL SR on Nov 20 and the dealer said February to March for delivery.

My two cents worth, many dealers are very transparent and will help navigate through the current situation which is: they have no idea of lead-times.
Other dealers will be very pessimistic about lead times so they don't over promise.
It does feel like is getting better from time of order to shipment, that's expected as the plan becomes more efficient at producing the new model.
Jeep will end up building about 100K units of the WL75 by the time they switch to MY2022 (supposedly in the next days). If you ignore the first 3-4 months due to plant inefficiencies and learning curve from a new model, you could guess that Jeep is building no less than 12K WL's per month.
Parts availability seems to be getting better, although there is something really weird with so little units of Summit/Summit R being shipped in the last month.
If you are ordering any other trim than Summit, I don't believe it will take as long as Feb/March to be built.

Btw, I have two references.
1. My brother ordered a 2021 Overland V8 mid September and took delivery early November.
2. I currently have a 2022 WL75 Overland V6 in order, it was placed 11/3, has been in D1 status for at least 2 weeks and it has estimated ship date of 12/7. I am prepared for my order to be delayed but if it ships at any time in December that would be an impressive turnaround.

For anyone that placed a 2022 order, notice that your last 6 digits of your VIN are 5XXXXX. These are sequential based on how many units the plant is receiving for both WL74 and WL75
My order was assigned 509XXX,. In other words is about +9000 vehicles since they opened 2022 orders in the system.
And my unit is already in D1.
This doesn't consider many other variables, they dont build in sequential order. Trim specific options can delay when yours get built.

Interesting. I ordered a 21 the first week of August. Sept 3rd I was told the order was flipped to a 22 and provided my VIN on 9/13. 501xxx. Guess we will see what happens. SR V8

Interesting! Makes no sense. Mine is a V6. Definitely a 21 on the build sheet. And definitely don't have it yet!

That is interesting. I ordered 10/14. My last 6 shows I’m at about 3500. Still in D status.

I wonder how this will work for you price wise. I have heard of people in the past not see price hikes that come with new MY on the gladiator and wranglers when this happened to them. I can't recall if the Air Ride and Tow package were avail on the SR but I know they weren't on the Summit and Overland, so there is that bonus also if you weren't getting them... you would be now! Definitely keep us posted on this one when you get your window sticker and speak with the dealer on final price.

We ordered a Summit Reserve on 9/24/2021, latest check said that it was now built and waiting installation of accessories on 11/29/21. Looking forward to seeing it early next month.

We ordered a 2022 GCL SR on 11/13/21 and the dealer was very transparent with delays, said may be approximately 3 months, maybe more. How do I check the build process, I guess I should call him lol.

I understand the delays, I work for a major combine manufacturer and we are experiencing delays like I have never seen in my 28 years in the business. One of my upper management team said this is the "new norm" as manufacturers in all industries are making money like never before due to interest due on items setting on lots, marked with sticker price sales.

We bought out new GCL SR $2000 off sticker, and felt happy with that. Never thought I would say that!

Great! Hopefully it's a quick 3 day build and not a long 1.5 week build!

My 2022 has been built, but it was shipped to storage.
I suspect they will move all 2022s into storage until they ship all 2021s
