The great software update of 2022

My Jeep says my software version is fca-my21.r17.99-prod as of today. That link says no updates available for me either. This forum has post stating this was the first OTA update version back in October. I assume this is the out of date version you speak of.

I am not surprised that the link brings us no joy. Just offering it as a possible solution. From research it seems that site allows offline updating by downloading a large file from Uconnect and then making an image on a usb stick to be has been put since November. inserted into the vehicle. Due to the boondoggle of updates, maybe it has been disabled/paused until things are sorted out.
Mine is version 98. It says there are no updates available, yet 99 has been available since November.

Yes

There is a notification of software being available for update but I didnt see a release notes page detailing what was changing.
See attached

No cellular contract, I got this over wifi.
You do need to go into settings of the vehicle, software update and check the option for receiving upgrades over wifi, connecting to your home wireless router.
I presume this happened overnight while car was in garage.
It is actually through the vehicles 4G cellular conenction, not WiFi.......Even though you do not have a contract, the truck still has a 4G connection...

To manually check for software updates via a PC, use the link below, enter your VIN. I believe this will push a update if available and not already done via OTA. I found a video on youtube from a guy doing a ram truck 8.4 uconnect this way.

This site is not updated and doesnt show available updates accurately.......

Same with me! I'm stuck in .98 and cant get .99 or this new 22 version I posted about earlier which is even newer than .99. The dealer AND the uconnect website say there are no updates - the dealer probably just uses the uconnect website/database so theyre both equally inept.

So this was posted in the Facebook group by someone…apparently there’s a new OTA update being served but who knows what it fixes

As of this post my VIN shows no updates on the uconnect website and I know for a fact I’m 2 versions behind this one
I agree, Mine is showing MY21 not 22 but it's not showing that any update is needed. Is there a way to push it to update? Also I'm wondering if I should even try b/c honestly I really haven't been having any issues with it other than the screen goes blank and comes back on every once in a while.

I’ve got the .99 version and it still does everything that it says it “fixes”. Wireless CarPlay lack of connectivity, screen flickers, doesn’t save preset volumes, etc.

I wonder if there is a way to do a factory reset on the uconnect system. It would be unfortunate if this is required to get the fixes to work properly, but probably worth it if things start behaving as expected as result.

Check the settings menu. There is a factory reset option, I believe.

Here’s something weird. Can some one tell me what is going on with my radio? The version is nothing like any of you have posted. This is my 2021 Laredo. I think it was built in November.

Not sure, I have seen a few different version pics.

The version possibly will be different due to screen/processor differences. You don't have NAV, this would be a different computer running the center stack. My GCL is a SR and I would expect differences. My assumption as an engineer... If a Laredo only has 6 speakers and no nav, I would choose a cheaper, integrated head unit/amplifier/display/processor all in one. On higher trims with multiple pairs of speakers + NAV, you need a separate amplifier, more processing power, etc... so an entirely different processor for the display would be needed. On an identical trim level, with NAV or without NAV the entire computer that runs the center stack is a different part number due to different physical hardware/ports. Different computer type = different software.

I suspect the issue is the hardware is the same from Limited ---> SR and the higher end systems are simply overloading it.

Sit tight, the Dodge Durango folks have an 82 page thread on this very Uconnect 5 Issue/Updates. They claim .99 is being pushed in a week or 2. I received .99 via OTA or one of the 30+ days it was at the dealership. I suspect Jeep rolled out .99 via OTA/USB at dealerships back in November, had a humongous belly flop and bricked a few vehicles, stopped all OTA on all vehicles, and now there are newer vehicles picked up last week with .98 and mine picked up in August with .99 due to their fiasco.

Every platform with Uconnect 5 is having serious issues/bugs/complaints. No, its not a Jeep thing.
