Replaced GCL? What did you get?

Looking to get rid of my GCL limited. Just too many issues, and dealerships refusal to service is just creating too much stress and anxiety.

Almost pulled the trigger on a certified 2019 Audi Q7 prestige on Friday with a lifetime powertrain warranty. What did any of you get, or are looking at?

Why didnt you pull the trigger? You think lifetime powertrain warranty is a deal breaker?
Lol, no. It was an awesome vehicle. Honestly, wife was out of town, but gave me the green light. Really want her to see it and drive it too.

Looked at X7s, fit and finish are certainly nice, but not drastically different from our current Overland L to warrant the additional price tag. Rear cargo space with third row folded down is also lacking in the X7 compared to the L, so another reason to pass for me.

X7 is nicer on road, better handling, better build quality by a little bit (WL is the best American quality from what I've seen).

Audi Q7 is similar to the X7.

Range Rover (pick your model) offers similar luxury and comparable off road capability to the GC, but at higher cost and worse reliability.

The new Sequoia coming out this summer will have more power, and be roughly as capable off road, but likely won't handle on road quite as well, but will probably be significantly more reliable, even in its first year. Tech not as good.

Tahoe has far less tech and cheaper fit and finish, but the diesel gets FAR better gas mileage (double what my Hemi Overland 4x4 gets).

Ford's Expedition feels/looks cheaper to me (interior) and doesn't have most of Jeep's tech either.

It's looking like I'll have a deal to replace my '21 with a '22 shortly. If the replacement could be had with the new I6tt engine, it would still be the prefect 'best of all worlds' vehicle for my use case (off road, towing, on-road handling, all the latest tech and a great sound system).

I will likely replace the '22 Hemi Overland I get with the I6tt version whenever it's released, pending how the new engine acquits itself in the Wagoneers. I live at high elevation and the turbo motor doesn't lose power up here like the naturally aspirated motors, and should deliver better fuel economy than the current V6 to boot.

Never again will I own a BMW.... The issues with the GCL are nothing compared to electrical gremlins in the X5 I owned. There's a reason they precipitously drop in value after 5 years. You can see lot's of JGC for sale that are 10 years old with 180k plus miles. You'll be hard pressed to find a BMW with that kind of mileage. Not to mention every time I dropped the X5 off for something I was given a POS chevy as a loaner because they were out of BMW loaners.

Lexus is the only company that I've had amazing customer service from. Just wish the GX460 wasn't a dinosaur. And the LX is an overgrown beast.

The 2023 Sequoia looks interesting spec wise, but I feel Toyota/Lexus design team is smoking too much futuristic weed. Design is just too boxy. That's whats frustrating about the GCL. Jeep nailed the interior and exterior design. The interior rivals the 2015 X5 I owned with the leather dash. Just wish the wood trim was real.

Not sure what trim level you have but all of the wood in my SR is real.

I'm pretty sure my Overland has plastic wood. It definitely doesn't feel real, which is disappointing at this price point.

I wouldn't touch the new engine for at least a couple of years, even if they don't report any immediate problems, which they probably will. It seems very impressive, but I would assume there's going to be some degree of learning curve.

I'll end up with another fully loaded V8 Overland 4x4 most likely. I'm hoping I can get them to paint the roof black with Midnight Sky, with SR wheels and grille inserts. I'll have to order AT tires from the EU or live with street tires for now.

This is a photoshop 'mashup' of what it would look like via the configurator photos.

I’ve honestly reached the point that I can’t even stand to look at it. I don’t have the issues that you do, Sarge, but the issues with the shifting and front suspension are unbearable, along with dealerships refusing service.
I have now addressed MOST of the rattles myself, no thanks to Jeep. But I’ve spent about $50 at Home Depot on the adhesive felt furniture pads.

I'm just kind of going in 'fingers crossed' that the next one doesn't have any of the problems my current September build has. There seem to be plenty of people with few/no problems, so hopefully I get a new/better experience the next time around. It's infuriating to spend this much money on a mass-market product and have this many problems. But, this is the same company that makes Alfas, so I'm definitely still apprehensive. I've had a lot of European cars, so I have a tolerance for a certain amount of repair work, but this has been far worse.

Funny, I am looking at a Q7 also. What do they charge for a lifetime powertrain warranty on a used one?

My GCL has been in service for 68 days since purchased in Aug. I tried to get jeep to buy back/trade and no luck so had to do the Lemon Law and now I just wait for the turn in date which should be soon.
I was told at the last dealer I was just at that every GCL or Wagoner that comes in for service HAS to have a STAR case which would be why it took so long this time. They even told me the early GCL's like mine are the ones with the weird issues not the later ones. Does not matter I am not getting another, love Jeep... HATE this one.

Looking to get a used vehicle, looked at a few Q7's but not sure yet.

The lifetime powertrain is offered by the dealership here in Knoxville, TN.
