Remote start heated seat and steering wheel option

When doing a remote start, It looks like the heated/ventilated driver seat and steering wheel is not getting turned on.

In my UConnect I have set that option to ‘remote start’

When I have that option set to ‘All starts’, then it turns on (heating driver seat and steering wheel) for regular start, but still not for remote start.

anyone else noticing this? looks like a uconnect bug

Same exact issue. I noticed it on mine last week. It's going in for a recall on Monday so I'll add that to the list for the dealer to look at.

Okay, cuz really I think we primarily want it to work on remote starts.

It’s kind of annoying when on ‘all start’ setting it always turns on every regular start. When driving and the seat and steering wheel are already warm enough I turn them off/down, then If I have to go out and back in the car on short trips, it always turns back on at max setting, and I have to always turn it off/down.

If the remote start option for heated/ventilated driver seat and steering wheel was working properly then this wouldn’t be an issue.

I learned the heated seats / wheel will only go on automatically with remote start when the outside temp is below 40-45 degrees

It’s 31 degrees outside here in minnesota right now, and I just verified again that the heated seats/wheel don’t turn on automatically with remote start, whether the option is set to remote start or all start.

Figured out what I was doing wrong and got it working

You have to first unlock the car (via remote) and then do remote start. Both heated steering wheel and driver seat turn on, along with hvac (mine was on auto). You can always lock the car again after remote starting, and the heated steering wheel, driver seat, hvac stay on

If you do remote start while locked then it only starts up the engine

Issue is resolved, Cheers!

Good to know but that’s stupid. They should fix that and make it so you can change all the climate settings from the app

Nah, I rather not have any car operational related settings managed through the app.
It then one more thing to deal and mess around with

Doesn’t work even if the car is unlocked before it’s remote started. Going in Monday for a different issue, so adding this to the list.

There’s a uconnect setting in your profile too that you need to set. Did you check if It’s not set to off?

I have noticed multiple App over the air (AOTA) notifications with my radio. Every time I get one I have to reset the climate control. I believe that they update the designs frequently for the climate control and that’s why the settings will change when they have already been saved.

We had the exact same issue with our GCL Altitude with the 8.4 inch screen, we set the seats and steering wheel to "all starts" and for some unknown reason the next day the setting would default back to "off". We did this countless times. We ended up deleting my profile from Uconnect so now we only have one profile in the system, since then it has worked perfectly-as long as the outside temp is below 40 degrees the seats/steering wheel have come on with both the key fob and app remote start. We did have a software update performed by the dealer, but I have not tried to add another profile since it appears to be working fine now. Hope this helps!

Interesting. I do have two profiles setup. I will try your single profile tactic when I get it back. Thank you for the tip, curious if it helps the phone/CarPlay issue as they are tied to the profile also

Single profile tactic makes having profiles pointless
I totally agree! The dealer said when creating profiles to make sure only ONE key is with the person you are creating the profile for is in the car. Like I said, I haven't tried to enter another profile since it is working. Besides, it's the wife's ride, I just added more presets in the Uconnect for my metal stations on XM if I drive it.

We have both phones connected, but my wife's phone is set as the "favorite" so it will automatically connect to hers if we are both in the car together.

My car is having a LOT of electrical problems with the UConnect system, and the dealer is 'hoping' it gets resolved with a new software patch, along with some new computer hardware (that won't arrive until the middle of next month).
