Order placed on 2/7 for a 2022 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve

Placed an order on 2/7 for a GC Summit Reserve. Salesman stated 6-8 weeks for delivery. Found out today that it would potentially be 36 weeks for delivery. I knew the 6-8 weeks was aggressive but 36 weeks??? I'll be looking at 2023's at that point. On top of that the price has increased by about $2k and the number of available colors have dropped to 4.

You are likely price protected so no worries there but I would ask where they are getting that number and WHY? The only thing I can think is you either picked a color that isn’t available yet OR they didn’t order it as sold. Or some other dealership issues are going on. Did you put a deposit down?

We did put down a deposit. Exterior was Baltic Gray with Tupelo interior. With the following option packages: Advanced ProTech Group IV, Luxury Tech Group V & the Hemi.

Hmm the ONLY thing I could see being a hold up would be the V8 but then again who knows. I would keep an eye on it but if they can’t deliver the car in a reasonable amount of time I would get my deposit back arguing that you cannot wait 36 weeks for a vehicle.

I did not
You may want to ask for a document like that.

The potential issue here is that vehicles that are presold to specific customers get higher build priority than vehicles that dealers are buying on spec to give them lot inventory. But some dealers allegedly abused this by placing spec orders as if they were sold, and after being caught, they were restricted from placing sold orders, which means all of their orders are lower in the build queue. So you really want to make sure your order has been placed as sold.

I am going on week 14, 93 days and still not in the build scheduling phase. I ordered Velvet Red and kept the V6, but added the other options available. i got the order sheet and VON the same day and VIN 2 weeks after. Last time I checked with Jeep chat all parts were staged At week 12. Sad thing about that, that eas the second time I was told that. Got that at 8 weeks, then at 10 weeks it was back to gathering parts again. Time will tell. I have a signed agreed price so all should be good there.

Ordered my GC SR on 1/21. Received VIN a week later. Got an email from Jeep stating the expected delivery date is the week of March 2nd. Cryptostickers sent a notification on 2/14 that my Build Sheet was found and on 2/15 that my Sticker (window) was found which should mean my vehicle is done and awaiting shipping so we'll see. I was able to download both the build sheet and the window sticker and the info. matches what I ordered. Not a fan of dealing with the dealerships. Really wish you could just order online and go.

I'm wondering why my 2022 JGC S/R is sill in D-status. Order submitted on 12/15/22, and I received an email from Jeep in late January stating that I will be notified by email when a delivery date's determined. I'm surprised that I haven't even gotten to Build status, yet.🤔

Update: Jeep Chat “Scheduled to be built in the next few weeks”. Called dealer right after chatting and they have an estimated ship date of 3/4 so finally a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Will be around week 18 when it arrives. Also price protected from order date of 11/18 so no surprises

Have a build sheet. Dealer thinks it could be dropped off tomorro. Not holding my breath. 15 weeks from order to build.

I think they must be batching because I ordered a red V6 CG SR on 1/121 with an estimated ship date of 3/9. Just received a letter yesterday that said it was pushed back to 3/30. This is my second one I have ordered. My first summit reserve came exactly on the estimated date. It only took 6 weeks. If you don't have an estimated ship date, then you will never get out of D1 status. Chat does not offer you estimated ship dates, only through the dealer. Unless you hear back from them, I would almost bet that the vehicle will be there on 3/4 or a couple days later. You are going to love it! There is too much value even at 70K, that's why I bought two.

Have both build sheet and window sticker. Going to run by dealership tomorrow to see if it was delivered per the 3/4 or thereabouts date. Hopefully will be picking it up soon

Were you able to get the air suspension and the limited slip differential (LSD) when you ordered? I’m being told I can’t get the LSD or the air suspension.
