Jeep will not connect to my home Wifi….

Anyone else having an issue where the jeep will not connect to your home Wifi? I took it in yesterday (11/19/21) for a software update which seemed to make the Uconnect 5 a lot more responsive but it still will not connect to my homes Wifi while in the garage. I was hoping to do some over the air updates when they come available for bug fixes. Thank you

Did you try to connect having your vehicle directly outside your garage? Could be something in the garage blocking the signal.

I will not connect because it can't see it or after the password is entered you get some kind of error?

Mine also doesn't connect. It recognizes the wifi signal but that's all. However, @JeepCares mentioned in another thread that the over the air updates do not require wifi. It is literally downloaded over the air. Maybe they can comment on this here.

Good morning,

Thanks for tagging our team and bringing this to our attention. Uconnect sends Firmware-Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates to vehicles equipped with built-in cellular modem to add new features or fix software bugs. FOTAs are sent regionally and are dependent on the vehicle being within range of a U.S. or Canadian cellular network. However, vehicles that are not FOTA capable can seek a manual update from their preferred dealer.

Vehicles equipped with a built-in cellular modem will have a Telematics Box Module listed in the sales codes. For example, connected Uconnect 5 units with sales code UBN and Uconnect 5 units with sales code UBG (non-connected) can both receive FOTA updates. However, non-connected customers will need to connect their Uconnect 5 systems to a nearby WiFi network to check for updates. **Unsecured networks are not supported.

If you have questions about your vehicle's capabilities, don't hesitate to send us a private message! We'd be happy to answer any questions that you have.

The Wi-Fi, Hot Spot, cellular connection, etc in my Summit L have not worked since the day I took delivery. I have returned to the dealer numerous times for the technician to download information from various modules in the vehicle that Star has requested. After 3 months and much data transferred Star still does not have an answer. I'm not sure they even understand the problem. They actually had the temerity to tell me it is not a Stellantis problem - that it is an AT&T HotSpot problem. This is total bunk! The latest is that they are going to replace the radio with one that is brand new and not refurbished. I am currently waiting for delivery of the radio. In todays supply chain disrupted world there is no estimating how long it will take to get the new radio. As a result, I continue driving this expensive, brand new vehicle without Sirius streaming, without SOS and Support calling capability, without EARS functionality, without over the air updates, etc. This is a whole lot of "no good"
