Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

Same details as you have except mine was ordered 7/13. In OH and dealer says it's waiting to be shipped.
Any luck with shipping? I visited my dealer yesterday and they have no idea what's going on. It's been stuck in KZ status over 2 weeks now. They are blaming the side steps. I got a case number from Jeep today after calling and asking them why my '21 has been built (11/24) and isn't loaded onto a train yet. The saga continues, so I'm hoping you have had better luck than me!

Nope! Talked to my dealer today and he followed up with his rep who said it's sitting in Detroit with not even an estimated ship/delivery date. I also called Jeep and the lady said it was sitting up there. She did assign it a case number. Considering that it's over 5 months, you would think they would have more info. Three hours after I called them, I did get an email from US Customer Care which said that the ETA is listed as to be determined and that they would work to expedite and prioritize my order...ha ha since it was finished November 24th!

As has been mentioned before, we are getting into the holiday season. I’m guessing this already slow process will grind to a crawl. I remain in inspection with side steps and splash guards apparently yet to be installed. A week ago I felt almost certain I would see my SR by Christmas, New Years at the latest. Now I’m more realistically just hoping to see it in time for a long trip we have planned mid-February.

Same man, I status since 12/16. Really thought I'd be out of it quick and into KZ. Not sure what's going on but there is def a bottle neck at the Inspection step. Guessing it's probably related to short staffing around holidays as we have both mentioned. I'm good with it though, take your time and make sure everything is correct.

Maybe our Jeeps are sitting together because I'm in the exact same boat, but I never got the follow up email from US Customer Care- ugh. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!

I just hope they are actually doing thorough comprehensive inspections and our Jeeps aren’t just sitting gathering dust.

Vehicle was built and released to the carrier this morning, KZ’d!
No window sticker shows up yet, obviously not on crypto sticker either as it’s delayed past the window sticker actually populating. @Buldawg we have been neck and neck most of the way, hopefully this means you’re released too (I didn’t have any upfitters stuff though).

Does anyone have a clue as to how Jeep chooses the build order?? Is it by VIN sequence number, paint color, engine size, order date, dealer size, 2 vs 3 row, or model ?? Any input or thoughts?

VIN is only as good as confirming when you ordered. Order date goes along those same lines. Order date plays a part in it as they try to build in order they received. But volume dealers generally get some priority, special customers and other high priority orders get bumped too. Paint means nothing as all the vehicles are painted on the line at the same time. When you watch build vehicles it’s actually pretty cool (and a bit unreal) to see a machine painting one vehicle white meanwhile right behind it another machine is paint one red. Engine size, trim, options mean mother. All the vehicles move down the same li e and whatever parts are needed are pulled from the staging area. They don’t do V8s one day and V6 another… a motor is grabbed and placed in as needed.

Window sticker populated this morning. Unfortunately I DO have the the eLSD delete on there. I have a V6 Summit with bench seat. Tow and Quadra-Air are listed (great news) but the eLSD is deleted.

Yes and no...only because I ordered Aug 9th, VON, but no VIN, switched to a '22 by Jeep mid Oct, and still no VIN as of 2wks ago. I do believe however that certain dealerships do get priority and I get it. Things that make you go HMMMMMMM !!!

That’s why I said it “plays a part” as opposed to definitively saying that is how they are built. Generally they build them based on when order is placed, it is JIT after all and that’s how JIT generally works. Unfortunately there are a large amount of other variables (I noted a few) that are then tossed into the mix and screw up that entire process. And with shortages plaguing the entire industry, all bets are off the table on what is built and when!

With you, bottom line is somehow you got screwed lol. I can’t understand how you and some other orders ended up basically getting forgotten. BUT you might win out, esp if you ordered an Overland or above trim seeing as the 22s have some $$ features tossed back in (Quadra-Air and Tow) and hands off driving added. Only question is what price you’ll pay, I have no idea what you were able to negotiate but I’m very interested in seeing how that works out for you.

Had you been checking with Jeep Chat regarding any deleted features? I ordered my '22 SR V8 on 11/29 and have been checking in every Monday for status, and they keep telling me that both QL and eLSD are both included and that currently all parts are sourced and it's entering the build process. Don't know if it really accurate or not until I see the sticker.
