Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

There doesn’t seem to be any sort of order to Jeep’s madness. Vehicles seem to be being built and shipped willy-nilly with no regard to order date or “priority”. I thought when I got into the build process mine would finally start moving. But yet again I was wrong. Mine has been stuck in “trim” for 4 days now. (Sarcasm ahead) Boy I’m glad mine has been given priority due to being a buy back. (Sarcasm ended) My build is not getting any sort of priority, if anything I seem to have pissed someone off. But as has been said before, there’s not a damn thing we can do about any of this. I still think they need to change JeepCares to JeepDon’tGiveADamn.
If you’re in Trim, then you’re in Trim. Not sure if your familiar with the assembly line build process but exactly how do you expect them to pull you out of Trim? They can’t physically remove your car from the assembly line lol. The priority is how you are already in build compared to others. When you get your build sheet I’m sure it will have a special condition category on it. But you can’t be upset that the build process is taking awhile, priority has nothing to do with that.

As for the method to the madness, ya got me on that one. No idea how they determine what gets build when.

Regarding the ship date…earlier it was 12/15 then it was bumped to 1/7 and then yesterday back to today. I’ll check later today and see where it has randomly been updated to.
Looks like I’m in your boat. I checked with the dealer today and my 1/7 date is gone and the date now says YESTERDAY (12/13) for the expected ship date lol. It’s better than 1/7! Tomorrow is day two of trim for me. IF we are lucky there was a Trim hold up slowing the line down and we will all see movement tomorrow.

I have read on other threads/forums that the actual build process 10 or 12 hours to complete. If those numbers are anywhere near correct then that would be how I would expect them to get any build through in less than 4 or 5 full days. Seems simple.

I can't say whether that is or isn't true for the WL75 but much of that stuff that floats around is perfect conditions and when they are running at peak capacity. They are running on smaller crews with the holidays approaching, and they haven't even been making this vehicle for a year yet. Don't forget that the pandemic has caused the stupidest most random shortages and slow downs. Jeep, like other plants, has been required to put extra safety precautions in place as per the UAW to try and protect it's workers. That slows things down. Why you're in Trim for 4 days now is anyones guess but I assure you its not something they can just change. Even with my vehicle having priority in the past, once the build starts all bets are off. You're at the mercy of the process at that point and until it's done and KZ'd.

This.

We ordered a Summit Reserve L on 9/22, yesterday 12/14 it was at distribution yard Winston Salem waiting to unload. I am reserving judgement until I see the window sticker. If the Air Suspension was deleted, then they will keep it. I am not trading in my 18 Overland for a 21 without air suspension.

Couldn't agree more! You can check your window sticker now though, why are you waiting until it gets here? No point in waiting.

I would do the same. As TampaHoosier said, you can check the Window Sticker now as well as the Build Sheet to see if your vehicle has the air-suspension or not.

as the morning Jeep Chat turns.. lol

Maurice (12/15/2021, 10:13:42 AM): Thank you for confirming, I am looking into your order status now.
Me (12/15/2021, 10:13:50 AM): ok
Maurice (12/15/2021, 10:15:40 AM): Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle. At this time we can suggest checking back end of week for an update on your order, as this build will be shipping very soon. Congratulations again on the purchase! We appreciate having you in the Jeep family!
Me (12/15/2021, 10:16:45 AM): I get the same message from you... what about the case number and having someone contacting me?
Maurice (12/15/2021, 10:17:46 AM): Great question! I do see your case is escalated and being expedited through the rest of the process. The specialist will be reaching out to you via email as soon as they have an update on your case.
Maurice (12/15/2021, 10:17:55 AM): Would there be anything else I can look into for you regarding your factory order at this time?

A Summit Reserve without Air Suspension would be a first. Even for 2021.
You will get it.

Last week Maurice told me that they wouldn’t begin building MY22 until Q4. When I told him this is Q4 and they have been building MY22s since the first of the month he asked me if there was anything he could do for me.

Update on my 8/10 21 SR V6 two tone. Will be off the train around the 22nd. A couple of days after it will be brought to dealer. Expect it to arrive Christmas and New Years. Build date was 12/2

Ok.. some help needed here..

I went and saw my dealer and spoke with the GM, he wants me to order a 22 and start over... hold 21 pricing deal we have. What are the pros and cons outside the obvious newer vehicle etc.
22 Summit R V8 versus 21 Summit R V8

One difference is the passenger screen….not sure how useful that is going to be but it is there.

Looks the '22 SR window stickers showing up now also include the eLSD that was deleted from the '21. So that would be a big check mark in be the "pro" column for me.

If you can wait 2 months, then definitely order the 2022.
Output at the plant seems to be increasing.
My 2022 took just 30 days to be built from order, not sure when I will get it but it shipped.
You are also getting a great price if they are holding whatever level they gave you for 2021.

I would definitely go for the 2022 if you can wait a little longer, especially at your your 2021 price.
