Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

Sorry to read that. Do you think is because they updated their original dealer order instead of placing a new one for you?

It's possible that that is was an order for dealer inventory at first. Hopefully speaking to the rep and maybe the factory they can get it adjusted that it's for a customer and not stock that they can move it along. We'll see what happens. Good thing is my wife's current vehicle isn't due back off lease till end of August so I have a little time. And if need be I have access to Grand Cherokee that she can drive till it the GCL comes in, I'll keep you posted on how this plays out

Thanks for the info, her current lease is with Chevy and honestly I can't wait to get rid of the Traverse!!!! I extended the lease on a Toyota once but wasn't sure if all offer extensions.

Well not good news. The limited model can not be ordered with the Lux package, which we knew, but any that have been ordered and not scheduled yet have been pushed back with no ETA at the moment. My salesman was informed that one option would be to move up to a Overland as that has many of the features standard and they can take orders for that. A few problems with doing that are once Pro Tech group III package it adds the lux group IV and removed the 2nd row bench seats. The second row bench was a must, oh and on top of all that it raises the price by $7K. Now we have to figure out which route we want to go

Did he say why no lux package? We placed our limited order and opted to just order without that package as it wasn’t available either

I've been hearing it has to do with some of the safety features and not having the chips available because of the semiconductor shortages.

I was thinking of doing the same but really wanted
  • Intersection Collision-Assist System
  • ParkSense Front and Rear Park-Assist with Stop
  • Door and Liftgate Passive Entry
and would have liked a couple of other features in the package

we did too but heard this shortage will go on for minimum a year if not 2 or 3. We felt we were getting a ton of features with just regular limited model

wow, that is crazy I haven't heard a time from of how long but now that you are saying that it might be a better option to do like you did and order with out

Decide to do the same. Just emailed the salesman and asked about changing the order or placing a new order minus the lux package.

I'm in the same boat.

Sorry for the redundant question, but are you saying that Jeep are not building any Limiteds with the Luxury Tech Group II package because of the chip shortage? That - along with a few additional add-ons - is exactly what I've been obsessing over for months!

I placed order on May 12th for Summit Reserve and as of today I was told my order is still in D1 status with "assembly starting soon." It was in D1 status 2 weeks ago also when I checked.

That's exactly what I'm saying. When the dealer goes to build a Limited with the Lux Tex Group II the system will not let them add it. The dealer order that I put a deposit on was ordered prior to that but but the time is passed the order inspection it got stuck in status BG which stands for "order has passed edit but not considered for scheduling". I was told because of the shortage.

Wow. That's unfortunate, and I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with this.

Interestingly enough, I've seen a few L's pop up on dealer websites that appear to include the Lux Group II package (for example). Given the price point, the list of features, and the fact that there is a VIN number, it seems that some Limited models with Lux II have been set aside for dealer allocations.

I've been monitoring all these websites like TrueCar and Autotrader.
Some dealers have been adding their upcoming inventory but no listings have yet any pictures.
