Jeep Cares - Please read - Which lawsuit do you want? - "L" Owners better lawyer up - I smell class action

I don't know and don't care. The vehicle is at the dealer, so I cannot look at the door sticker. My window sticker has "S.L. 0818 –0" at the bottom of the sticker. I took possession around 9/20/2021. So a august 18 build date seems plausible. I cannot answer you about the build date, but can tell you how many days/hours until FCA is in violation of my state's lemon law.

My advice to anyone is to never buy this or any Jeep product. I have owned 3 Jeep Grand Cherokees, a 2012, 2019, and now this GCL 2021. I have purchased/owned a Dodge Journey GT, a Dodge Dakota, and 2 Dodge Neons. Most purchased from the same local dealership. I have been able to purchase using employee/supplier discounts on all new vehicles, and will gladly give those discounts up to go elsewhere. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FCA PRODUCT...EVER! after this. I cannot stress how technically, morally, and fundamentally wrong it is to have such issues on any vehicle, let alone a brand new one, let alone with a $70K+ price tag. I have been told by the same dealership "we didn't build it, and we wont buy it back". I have been told by Jeep corporate "we have no records of any known issues, and also no repairs in sight".

I will spend every minute of my free time trashing Jeep over this entire fiasco. They don't even have the audacity to call back after leaving my information with them. They simply DO NOT CARE! @JeepCares should be renamed to something more appropriate and fitting. To date, I have received 0 calls from Jeep/FCA, 0 calls from my dealership, and lied to by both.

I will start a new thread about gathering interest about a class action lawsuit. I need time to get my own case filed. I plan to post this class action thread next week. The beauty of buying an extended warranty is that FCA violates 2 legal binding agreements instead of 1.

Same problem with mine braking issue going in for service next week. Also really bad issue with my lift gate saying it’s always open. Driving down the highway lights in the car go on and says the lift is open. 3 jump starts last week and alarm is constantly going off. Glad to know some people were able to get new ones $60,000 cars and we have these problems

The reason I asked is because you had mentioned the flood so I wondered if the build date was near the date of the flood. I do not blame you for being fired up. I’d be pissed off too. Seems like the dealer is playing games. You have showed records not matching. Is bringing it to another dealer an option? Not even to fix it but just to document the problems and work towards a solution acceptable to you. Your dealer must have records that the Jeeps been in the shop all this time. What are they writing down that it’s in for? If it’s not listed as something major well that doesn’t even make sense so I’d think Stellantis would realize there is obviously a big problem with it. I’d think it would be hard for them to say no known issues if they acknowledge the dealer has had it for extended periods of time. What state are you in…curious what the lemon laws are there. Dealerships seem to be awful. They don’t feel any loyalty even though a person has spent big bucks on many cars from them. I know that first hand. My father bought numerous BMWs from a BMW dealer. $80,000 cars. I always thought they were ripping him off. I got involved this last time and learned just how bad they have been taking advantage of him. They see him as a cash cow not a valued loyal customer. You stated you have an attorney involved now so maybe this isn’t advised at this point but I’d want to do a conference call between Stellantis and the dealership so I could determine who was lying to me. I wish you the best of luck in your situation because it sounds like it’s horrible. Definitely keep people posted.

Let me know how it goes, I might jump on that class action too. I have two GC L's Overland and Limited and both have issues.

Posting for future updates..... I've gone rounds with Jeep FCA...... They are useless and only give half assed apologies. I've had similar issues, and also different issues. My Jeep was confirmed to have the suspension installed incorrectly at the factory.

I get your anger... Issue I see with non-luxury brands dipping their toes in the luxury priced market is they have zero experience dealing with customers that : 1) Can afford a vehicle at this price point 2) Understanding the expectations of customers who buy vehicles at this price point 3) Having the infrastructure as an organization to handle those expectations. The Wagoneer is a perfect example. The Wagoneer is at the same price point as a Lexus LX570, the flagship SUV of Lexus. When Lexus deals with customers, you are treated like a pimp daddy. Jeep doesn't understand that the relationship continues after the sale. I've owned several Lexus vehicles over the years and currently drive a Lexus RX450HL (Cherokee L is wifes daily driver). Every time I bring the car in for service, I get a loaner, no questions asked. A year ago I hit a large piece of metal on the highway that took out the the rims on the passenger side. Had the RX towed to the Lexus dealer and I was on my way in a loaner in 20 minutes and the new rims were installed 2 days later. Amazing customer service.

As far as the flood. I can't imagine Jeep being that stupid to try and salvage those vehicles versus either writing off the loss or taking insurance (however, many companies self insure so taking the loss is the best route). Flood damaged vehicles, especially with the amount of electronics in modern cars, would be a warranty nightmare that would kill Chrysler's bottom line down the road. Fact is, your truck should have been lemon'd by now. I used to own a BMW X5 and it floored me how many new owners would take delivery only to have the truck Lemon'd on them 2 months later due to multiple issues. (check out X5 forums and see all the electrical issues with BMW, it's a shit show) Seems like BMW almost expects it because almost nobody had issues with buybacks. But, again... The difference between a Luxury brand and Jeep.

Is this air ride or conventional suspension? The air ride was deleted and no longer is an option. I am curious if the "real reason" for the deletion is the design, not the electronics.

My GCL vehicle has experienced a "rear end sway" similar to a minor drift with the rear trying to step out while driving in a straight line. While accelerating from a stop, using maybe 20-30% throttle, the rear end seems to sway towards the driver/passenger side as if I am slipping in the rear with both wheels in snow, creating a minor drifting sensation as the rear starts to step out. Just like driving a rear wheel drive vehicle with Posi in the snow, but I am on clean and dry pavement. I have to steer the vehicle out of this condition as the rear steps out and points the vehicle off the road. It is minor, requiring a steering wheel correction from 12 o' clock to 10 or 2 o' clock to correct it. It is very noticeable and feels like the rear is out of alignment for a moment. Think rear axle thrust alignment, causing a dogleg condition causing the vehicle dogleg going down the road, but intermittently. This happens more noticeably when the road is sloped/angled from side to side and is straight in nature. Old Ford commercial Econoline vans were notorious for this. I have complained about it but nothing found, has not been on an alignment rack yet. I am very curious about what your symptoms/items found are in detail. My vehicle is AWD, with air ride though. Not sure of your setup.

I have spent $181K on my 3 GC's alone (GCL, GC WK2, GC WK2) using employee/supplier discounts. These are not entry level trims and know what to expect at this price point, I've owned 3 of them. Not trying to start a pissing match, but jeep has been making expensive vehicles appealing to mid luxury classes for years. My 2019 WK2 GC was perfect IMO. I regret trading it in for the GCL, but was offered OMG money for my 2019 GC WK2. I do agree Jeep is not equal to your brands mentioned by any stretch. The finished product is not comparable in fit and finish by any stretch. I agree the Jeep customer service is a joke, from top to bottom it is horrible.

I am not a loud mouth/ignorant owner, I have worked in the auto industry for over 20 years. I know their lies and games. I have an NDA, but know plenty of Jeep GC/Wrangler stories...

Being pissed off is an understatement. My expectations was for a WK2 that was longer. What I received was a vehicle that cannot drive more than 30 minutes with an error message, MIL coming on, or unsafe driving event happening. Both the dealership and factory have already broken laws and my states lemon law hasn't officially been violated. Trust me when I say this is going to end badly for Jeep, not via me, but via all of us owners, hence my class action comments/thread. I have filed multiple complaints at NHTSA, lets just say I am not alone.

your info on air suspension is not accurate.
Quadra Lift was deleted temporarily for 2021 Overland V6 and Summit V6, from mid August until the last 2021's shipped.
All 2021 V8's and/or 2021 Summit Reserve packages kept the air suspension at all times.
All 2022's including V6 have the Air Suspension back as standard, no deletes.
Btw, the delete on the 2021 was more related to cost/price and not entirely due to supply chain shortages

Out of dozens of cars I've owned over the past few decades, this is only the second 'new car' I've bought. The prior one was a brand new 2000 Grand Cherokee, which was lemon-lawed. I'm not having nearly as many issues as some of you (so far) but If I had read these threads I would not have thrown down $70k on this first model year product. I hope they get their act together.

Having read things on here, I will not be connecting my Jeep's wifi to my house, will hope the rattles get fixed, and hope the rest is addressed with software updates. The problems I'm reading about on here certainly makes it seem like some of these were assembled with components from flood damaged vehicles. Godspeed to everyone either getting their issues resolved or vehicles bought back. What a nightmare...

The words “I wonder” form a question, not a statement. Adjectives matter. I have accused jeep of a lot here, please do not insinuate that I have made statements when I asked questions. I am not the grammar police. This thread is part of my legal case, hence my clarification. "I wonder" why @JeepCares hasn't commented? Is a sarcastic question as they do not wish to incriminate themselves.

If I were a moderator I would do everything possible to ban all politics on this site. It just degrades the user experience and has zero to do with why people are here. Anyone whining about 'free speech' can be informed that there are all manner of things that are not allowable forms of discussion (porn, religion, etc - politics is more acidic and vitriolic than perhaps any other topic).

That said, venting about the vehicles we have purchased should be allowed. If the manufacturer is producing flawed products and not responding, the public deserves to know. Had I seen these posts before I bought mine last week, I might not have taken a risk on this model. So far my issues seem to be relatively minor annoyances, but I'm less than a week in.

No idea what you are talking about.
You are obviously pissed and you have the right to be, but you are also rambling about stuff and responding all over the place without even paying attention to who and what you are responding to. Take the L for today (pun intended) and come back tomorrow with some sense on what you write.

I have a Limited with Awd. No air suspension. The shocks/struts were installed at an improper angle. Causing them to bind

Know the lemon laws in your state, document everything, call the 877 number and open a case with Jeep. They will start by offering you a monthly payment or two, say no thanks and escalate to a buyback or replacement.

How did you figure this out? Did it feel/sound like your font struts were hitting the bump stops going over bumps/speedbumps?

The front suspension sounded like it bottomed out every bump. Very stiff ride.

Dealer looked at it, confirmed the noise and said the struts should be replaced. 6 weeks later the struts came in, the service manager called me and told it was installed wrong because the new struts didn't initially fix this issue. So they took the front apart, found it tweaked, installed it correctly, new struts back in.

Drove and road much better after that.

April 2021 L Summit Reserve order, 8/21/2021 Receive/signed date. Currently sitting at 3050 ish miles, 3 dealer visits totaling roughly 2 weeks due to a lengthy list of issues with zero repairs made. I have described my open issues below. My problem is, I have a vehicle that is unsafe to drive in my opinion, your dealership says no its fine to drive, but with "glitches", with more issues arriving daily, a dealership that says " we don't have a fix, waiting on engineers", and Mopar customer rep on the phone today admitting they have no solutions, let alone aware of any of these issues.

My question is this... Am I to park my jeep at the dealer and refuse to drive it, then sue FCA? Or drive my vehicle until the cross path/abs or power steering malfunction again and kill my wife/child, then sue FCA? I am in Ohio, have contacted my attorney general's office regarding lemon laws and they told me to dump it at the dealership and let them run the clock out and settle in court.

This is my 3rd GC, and my last. You have failed me in a spectacular fashion this time. Do not send me a PM, this needs to be made public. If you want my VIN I will be glad to send it to you in a PM, but all communication is being made public to speak to your issues at hand and also for me to retain copies of this communication for future legal use.

I have called your support line again today, only to be told that there is no solutions for any of these problems at this time. I refuse to be treated this way and have sought legal council. I will be forwarding this message to the NHTSA after this post. As a consumer, when the dealership cannot repair the problems and the factory cannot or is unaware of such problems, what choice do I have?

Issues I am facing
1. "Power Steering Unavailable" EVIC message. Power steering actually shuts off, headlights start flickering very fast for some reason while in this condition. Drove to dealer, dealer cleared code, reset and is fine. No fault found, just reset. Real nice at 0600 morning drive with no headlights...
2. ABS lights coming on solid and/or flashing for no reason while driving. ABS not engaged actually, but lights solid on and flashing. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
3. Cross path detection activating at random times, slamming brakes on/vehicle to stop, in conjunction with #2 above on straight roads. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
4. Dead battery once, jumped started and drove to dealer to be told my Mopar cargo mats were blocking the liftgate. We will see about this one. I make mistakes every day, and see how it could happen. Drove fine day before, next day dead, never opened hatch for 2 days prior. I will see about this long term.
5. Radio/touchscreen randomly turns off to black screen and then comes back on. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
6. Radio/touchscreen randomly reboots, with very loud screeching noise through speakers while driving (different than #5). No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
7. Windshield wiper randomly go from slow speed to full speed with same rainfall. Yes, I know its automatic speed change, but they are going from min speed to max, back to min speed rapidly over and over in a light sprinkle, set to lowest sensitivity. No matter where the stalk is placed the behavior is the same. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
8. Uconnect app states "Your vehicle is not capable of Vehicle Health Reports. For your service needs please contact your dealer or review the Maintenance Schedule. " on the website. My mileage has not been updated since 9/15/2021 showing only 15 miles. My phone app does not have vehicle diagnostics. All is properly registered and has never worked. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
9. Undiagnosed/unrepaired clunking issue in "B" pillar. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
10. Missing plastic nuts from cover underneath driver side HVAC lines (near B pillar). I personally purchased the parts and fixed.
11. Vehicle locking the doors automatically while stopped, engine running, with keyfob inside. Was dropping child off to school, driver left vehicle, walked around to rear passenger door and vehicle was locked, child had to unlock doors. No the child or driver didn't lock the doors, keyfob was left inside. School is a twice a day activity, doors have locked themselves multiple times this way. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
12. In car 4G LTE cannot register/work properly, don't really care at this point
13. Wireless carplay is a complete failure, randomly the phones connect to Bluetooth only. I've had carplay work maybe twice. Don't really care at this point

EDIT - forgot these
14. Passenger door/speaker area making rattling sound, speaker has been replaced by the dealer, not resolved
15. While heating, HVAC is clearly making a whistling noise. In Ohio, getting cold now, HVAC making whistling sound
16. Traction control light blinking, then staying on for no reason
17. Beeping about drowsy driver detected, when there was no drowsy driver, this issue happened by itself, right before a no abs event.
18. "No SOS message available, contact dealership" on EVIC
19. Buzzing sound from where headliner meets b pillar on drivers side, if you push the headliner in this area it stops
20. "auto emergency braking unavailable" the message stated to clean the front sensor, vehicle is spotless/garage kept. Stopped to check sensor, did nothing as there is nothing to clean and 5 minutes later message states "AEB" available.

Could care less about #12 or #13, at this point they are just annoyances to remind me of my horrible decision.

I would be very interested to know what happened to all of the GC L's that were flooded at the Mack assembly plant back in June. I am curious if parts were salvaged from vehicles ordered to be destroyed due to your electronics shortages. These ongoing electrical issues are typical of flooded vehicles, not new ones. I get the new vehicle platform/launch, but really? Someone, somewhere, employed by FCA has made some horrible choices by rushing the L's to market. My first loan payment was made while the vehicle was at the dealer, I will be damned if it happens again.
When you file a suit they are in the Netherlands under Stellantis. I filed one.
