April 2021 L Summit Reserve order, 8/21/2021 Receive/signed date. Currently sitting at 3050 ish miles, 3 dealer visits totaling roughly 2 weeks due to a lengthy list of issues with zero repairs made. I have described my open issues below. My problem is, I have a vehicle that is unsafe to drive in my opinion, your dealership says no its fine to drive, but with "glitches", with more issues arriving daily, a dealership that says " we don't have a fix, waiting on engineers", and Mopar customer rep on the phone today admitting they have no solutions, let alone aware of any of these issues.

My question is this... Am I to park my jeep at the dealer and refuse to drive it, then sue FCA? Or drive my vehicle until the cross path/abs or power steering malfunction again and kill my wife/child, then sue FCA? I am in Ohio, have contacted my attorney general's office regarding lemon laws and they told me to dump it at the dealership and let them run the clock out and settle in court.

This is my 3rd GC, and my last. You have failed me in a spectacular fashion this time. Do not send me a PM, this needs to be made public. If you want my VIN I will be glad to send it to you in a PM, but all communication is being made public to speak to your issues at hand and also for me to retain copies of this communication for future legal use.

I have called your support line again today, only to be told that there is no solutions for any of these problems at this time. I refuse to be treated this way and have sought legal council. I will be forwarding this message to the NHTSA after this post. As a consumer, when the dealership cannot repair the problems and the factory cannot or is unaware of such problems, what choice do I have?

Issues I am facing
1. "Power Steering Unavailable" EVIC message. Power steering actually shuts off, headlights start flickering very fast for some reason while in this condition. Drove to dealer, dealer cleared code, reset and is fine. No fault found, just reset. Real nice at 0600 morning drive with no headlights...
2. ABS lights coming on solid and/or flashing for no reason while driving. ABS not engaged actually, but lights solid on and flashing. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
3. Cross path detection activating at random times, slamming brakes on/vehicle to stop, in conjunction with #2 above on straight roads. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
4. Dead battery once, jumped started and drove to dealer to be told my Mopar cargo mats were blocking the liftgate. We will see about this one. I make mistakes every day, and see how it could happen. Drove fine day before, next day dead, never opened hatch for 2 days prior. I will see about this long term.
5. Radio/touchscreen randomly turns off to black screen and then comes back on. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
6. Radio/touchscreen randomly reboots, with very loud screeching noise through speakers while driving (different than #5). No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
7. Windshield wiper randomly go from slow speed to full speed with same rainfall. Yes, I know its automatic speed change, but they are going from min speed to max, back to min speed rapidly over and over in a light sprinkle, set to lowest sensitivity. No matter where the stalk is placed the behavior is the same. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
8. Uconnect app states "Your vehicle is not capable of Vehicle Health Reports. For your service needs please contact your dealer or review the Maintenance Schedule. " on the website. My mileage has not been updated since 9/15/2021 showing only 15 miles. My phone app does not have vehicle diagnostics. All is properly registered and has never worked. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
9. Undiagnosed/unrepaired clunking issue in "B" pillar. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
10. Missing plastic nuts from cover underneath driver side HVAC lines (near B pillar). I personally purchased the parts and fixed.
11. Vehicle locking the doors automatically while stopped, engine running, with keyfob inside. Was dropping child off to school, driver left vehicle, walked around to rear passenger door and vehicle was locked, child had to unlock doors. No the child or driver didn't lock the doors, keyfob was left inside. School is a twice a day activity, doors have locked themselves multiple times this way. No stored codes, no dealer fix/response
12. In car 4G LTE cannot register/work properly, don't really care at this point
13. Wireless carplay is a complete failure, randomly the phones connect to Bluetooth only. I've had carplay work maybe twice. Don't really care at this point

EDIT - forgot these
14. Passenger door/speaker area making rattling sound, speaker has been replaced by the dealer, not resolved
15. While heating, HVAC is clearly making a whistling noise. In Ohio, getting cold now, HVAC making whistling sound
16. Traction control light blinking, then staying on for no reason
17. Beeping about drowsy driver detected, when there was no drowsy driver, this issue happened by itself, right before a no abs event.
18. "No SOS message available, contact dealership" on EVIC
19. Buzzing sound from where headliner meets b pillar on drivers side, if you push the headliner in this area it stops
20. "auto emergency braking unavailable" the message stated to clean the front sensor, vehicle is spotless/garage kept. Stopped to check sensor, did nothing as there is nothing to clean and 5 minutes later message states "AEB" available.

Could care less about #12 or #13, at this point they are just annoyances to remind me of my horrible decision.

I would be very interested to know what happened to all of the GC L's that were flooded at the Mack assembly plant back in June. I am curious if parts were salvaged from vehicles ordered to be destroyed due to your electronics shortages. These ongoing electrical issues are typical of flooded vehicles, not new ones. I get the new vehicle platform/launch, but really? Someone, somewhere, employed by FCA has made some horrible choices by rushing the L's to market. My first loan payment was made while the vehicle was at the dealer, I will be damned if it happens again.

Totally understand your frustration, but a quick question as several owners reported it solved their electrical problems, did you or the dealer checked all fuses to be seated properly?

Yes. Multiple times, pulled many modules, verified pins in back of ecu connectors, other modules, etc... I have even printed pages from this very forum as nobody has any detail or star case data except what is posted by users here. I hold electrical/electronic degrees and design automation/PLC systems for FCA and its suppliers. I am a business owner that supplies to tier 3,2,1. I can tell you without doubt that there is more at play than loose fuses. That story of loose fuses is only smoke to buy them time. Yes, I am sure there are a few loose at 92% (or whatever) seated instead of 100%. I cannot disclose my knowledge or lack there of due to ongoing litigation, but will state that if I applied my solutions to their problems it would void my vehicles warranty. What I can tell you is my first degree is electronic engineering and know that loose fuses is not their root cause problem of any of my issues. When do loose fuses cause a battery to drain from engine shut off at 2030 and by 0700 the next day be flatter than a pancake? at less than 10V? Oh I know, the authentic Mopar cargo mat is blocking the hatch from fully closing, but with no dome light or indicator, despite not being opened for days prior... Good one! Jeep corporate cannot see my service history, the vehicle is not reporting any miles to corporate/Uconnect app. Vehicle health reports/diagnostics are unavailable to me, dealer cannot disclose codes seen, factory cannot inform me of any known issues from others, factory cannot tell me my issues are even seen by others, factory tells me "there is nothing at this time or foreseeable future that can remedy my problems" from the supplied list above. Why does no data exist anywhere? What I can tell you is the necessary parts to fix half of my problems do not exist. I am flabbergasted that my dealer got a spare McIntosh front speaker to chase and repair a noise/rattle while overlooking my safety issues and concerns. Obviously the safety issue parts are out of stock and speakers are not. Seems on point for the 2020-2021 Idiocracy ages we are living in.

My vehicle has slammed the brakes on to avoid a cross path collision. on a straight road with no other vehicles, signs or intersections, or animals. It has swerved onto gravel berm after shutting off lane departure/auto correct steer button. I have lost power steering, ABS, and other braking features. I have shut off every advanced accessory/setting known to man. I have lost power steering and headlights were strobing/flickering in the dark. I cannot describe with non-vulgar language how wrong all of this is, while being told everything is fine from corporate and the dealership. Of course they don't want you to park them at the dealership, that's when the law is in the consumer's favor. These issues should never happen at any price point. We are way out in NHTSA waters with such complaints, not ignorant consumers complaining about Bluetooth connectivity.

I do not need to rant, I am a big dummy and don't care what anyone else thinks, I have no social media, only this forum, my dealership's # and my lawyer's #. This is a warning to all other owners. There is much more going on, Jeep is clearly motivated to push them to the field, Waggoneers are coming with similar issues baked in and if you think my spoiled summit attitude stinks, wait until a really spoiled Grand Wagoneer owner gets placed in front of me with their parts needs and issues. I am choosing to pull the eject handle now prior to my clock running out. Jeep cannot even replace my vehicle like for like due to the removal of all custom ordered options that I have.

Frustration is lazy coworkers, heartache is putting your best dog down, gut wrenching is carrying bodies on a stretcher. This is literally an AWD fatality waiting to happen. I am refusing to drive it.

Inserted is a pic for all the fanboys to stop hating and other to not log in to see it, this is my finger and GC. I own 3 FCA vehicles currently, this is my 3rd GC, and have purchased a total of 7 FCA products since 2005 from the same dealer, never again. IMG_6318.jpgMy middle finger approves this message.

Your frustration is warranted. I have had many issues with my GCL and when the safety of my family is compromised, all bets are off. Especially for the price you pay for this vehicle. The least they could have done was verify the safety.

Love my vehicle.

After 3 times in for the same brake problem customer service/care asked what I wanted done. My answer was replace my 800 mi GCL WITH A NEW ONE, and they did. Couldn’t be happier.

Can you Pm me the contact that you have so I can speak with them. I currently have more cases open with Jeep then I can remember.

In the shop again. Was driving to the dealer to discuss options about what to do when the service 4wd came on, irony. It is being kept for over a week to have the service manager drive it with a data acquisition unit attached.

Lawyer contacted, paperwork started. At the end of this latest dealer visit it will be over 30 days at the dealer. Jeep “probably” cannot build another vehicle identical due to elimination of options and the fact I waited 6 months for a custom order with every option available in April 2021.

Congratulations, FCA you will be listed as the defendant. Better get used to it. I have requested photographic evidence of any modules replaced. If water damage is found from mack st plant flood, I plan on owning a small chunk of your business.

To all owners with issues. I cannot stress how important it is for the dealer to document precisely what your problem is. My service reports printed at the dealership do not match my service records available in my app at all. Mileage matches, that’s it.

Per my attorney…
1. Email the service department or bring a typed and dated list of issues
2. Demand hard copy and or emails of service reports
3. Keep written logbooks of precise date, times, durations,
4. Never speak to anyone verbal about decision making, it must be in writing

My dealership has a grand wagoneer series 2, brand new not sold and it won’t start. They rolled it off the delivery truck. Same battery draining issues, go figure.

Not to add to your problems but take a look at your trunk hatch door from an angle and you will see bunch of little imperfections that look like dings. This is a known issue as well. I have the same thing on my wife's Limited L and my Overland L. Also inspect your wheels. There is a known issue with white stains in the clear coat on the wheels...

My problems with L started in August. I bought Limited L for my wife and noticed bunch of big dents on the roof. It didnt help that the car was black. Dealership tried to fix it bunch of times, dent guys came out, nobody was able to fix it. They said structural problem. They said it does not impact the driving and lemon attorney said the same thing. Jeep did offer me 5% discount if I traded it in for another Limited so that is what I did and got my Overland in the same deal. Only to find out that this Limited and Overland both have the dents on the trunk door in addition to all of the various white stains on the machined wheels on my overland. ..

Jeep really dropping the ball on it's customers this year. We really need a third row for our kids and we were rushing to get two cars with third rows. If I had known, I would have be driving two MDX's right now.
