JEEP App/Connect is a subscription?!?

I purchased my GCL on Monday - today I received an email welcoming me to Jeep Connect Service...

I log into it - and it tells me that the connection service - such as Remote Start and locator - are a subscription?

The Remote Start is listed on the sticker price as a standard option? Am I reading wrong what is something more I have to pay for?

I am not thrilled about this at all...

I believe the remote start they are referring to on the sticker is the key fob option.

I'm still waiting on my build, how much is the subscription for the app version?

are you talking about UConnect? it’s an app that gives limited functionality for free and through SirusXM allows for remote control and vehicle diagnostics. A trail subscription is included with the vehicle (6mo min but I’ve heard some folks get a year).

p.s. I love it on my JT. Nothing better than being on a hike miles away from the truck and locking it remotely after you remember you forgot (with cell service of course). GPS tracking also helps at theme parks and such.

Jeep Connect is for features in the mobile app, not the keyfob remote start.

I can't find pricing for it; if you find can you post it? I will prob pay for the conveinence.

There was no cost to download and use the Jeep app, including remote start and door lock/unlock. Maybe at some point they start charging for it.

Only thing Ford has us beat on is ext. keypad and free lock/unlock/start/locate app for life. Jeep sucks you into “needing” it for 6 months (or however long we have) and then pulls the rug out. Then it was like $20-25/month for my WK2. Had to subscribe to it one time because i locked my keys in!

Enjoy it while it lasts!

they don’t advertise it much, but there’s a cheaper package that doesn’t include as many features but does give you all the remote security stuff…SiriusXM Guardian Remote: $129/yr. That’s what I have.

Agreed, I loved it on my Ford Expedition…never thought Jeep would charge for it! No chance I am paying that monthly fee…

Wow Jeep is really cheaping out. When I bought my 2017 Chrysler 300, I got a year free trial of the Uconnect App....I was figuring 6 months like the Sirius trial for the Jeep

I always got a monthly subscription on my GC during the winter months so I could start it at work. I have to park to far away for the fob to work.

How much was it? I’m going to keep the subscriptions. The vehicle locator is gold for me.
