trying to avoid scratches on surface of the black piano plastic on center console on new Summit. The material looks like it scratches easily, any ideas how to protect it? Thanks.
I’ve been following this board for a few months now and when I take delivery in the next few weeks, I am having a local detailed install Paint Protection Film to the piano black console. Seems to be the best long term solution.
I stopped by a local shop that does window tinting and PPF to discuss options for the piano black trim on the center console. They suggested a ceramic coating kit from Scorpion. They further stated that it would provide a scratch and chip resistant coating is very durable. Has anyone tried this approach? Thank you.
Ceramic coating is not a scratch proof protection, it is more for element such as sun, dirt & Grime and other such things from getting into the clear coat and reducing its luster and shine if you will. PPF is what you want. I can’t believe they are trying to sell you on Ceramic.
I was really upset with my scratches. I bought this on Amazon for about $17. Honestly it cleaned up my mess very well. I'm not upset when I get in my Jeep.

I purchased it as it was in transit at the time. It arrived in my garage on 1/11/22. It was very well equipped. I added the aluminum caliper covers, the OEM running boards, custom Lloyd Lux 3 row carpets, dash cam, independent alarm, GPS unit and a 8yr./125K maxcare extended warranty. It easily broke the 70K mark.
Oh and yes before I forget, the trail rated badges were $30.00 on ebay.
