Hot center console

Hello all
I just traded in my 19 WK2 X for a 21 WL. I noticed after driving after about 20 minutes my center console is very warm not to the point of melting or catching fire just very warm.

Specifically where the passenger seat and driver seatif you put your hand between that tight spot it is very warm. I’ve had six grand Cherokees before this one and this is the first time with That I’ve ever experienced anything like this I mentioned it to the dealer the other day and they told me to wait it out a little bit as their lead mechanic on the “ L “ has never heard of this and they have yet to have one repair on the three that they’ve sold.

Anyone else notice this?
Thanks

Yes I did. Problem solved. My rear heat controls were set to high. My kids must of played with the controls initially and I never noticed it. As soon as we put the rear sear(2nd row) controls to cool the center console was normal/ cool. Basically the 2nd seat air goes through the center console out of the vents located behind it. And thus was why it was hot. Should be nice and toasty in the winter.

Thanks for the update. I was just noticing this today, and I now know my son was the culprit! 😂

Not that anyone wants to take apart a new vehicle but when I get mine I plan to take that apart and install some thin insulation like I did on my RZR 900 that I use for off road fun. It made a huge difference and I am sure the duct that goes to the rear can be wrapped as well so you can keep the heat where you want it too go.
