Pull back on stick.Still seems like I need a fix on my summit. I cannot manually enable the high beams when the headlights are set to auto. That is a safety concern for me.
It's auto mode, it's literally the opposite of manually enable. lol you need to just set your lights to 'on' if you want manual control.Still seems like I need a fix on my summit. I cannot manually enable the high beams when the headlights are set to auto. That is a safety concern for me.
Just saw the recall on my Jeep app, but it is telling me to take it to the dealer, can't I just wait for the software to autimatically update over the air?I was just on the phone with my dealership scheduling the UConnect software update, and I was told that an update to correct the high beams not working in auto was released today, 10/21/21.
I tried to use the high beams and never worked, I thought that I was probably doing something wrong but as I mostly drive in the city I didn't care much. This is only for Laredo and Altitude trims. other trims are not affected because they have the auto high beam feature.
Even in auto I should be able to use the high beams at will, at least this is how it worked in my previous vehicle. It's auto mode, it's literally the opposite of manually enable. lol you need to just set your lights to 'on' if you want manual control.
Your previous vehicles didn't have automatic high beams. Why should you be able to turn your high beams on or off when you have it set to automatic mode?Just saw the recall on my Jeep app, but it is telling me to take it to the dealer, can't I just wait for the software to autimatically update over the air?

I noticed in my Jeep app this morning that there is a safety recall for it.Still seems like I need a fix on my summit. I cannot manually enable the high beams when the headlights are set to auto. That is a safety concern for me.
How do you expect it to work in auto mode and what trim level do you have?I took my Jeep in for this recall above and the high beams still do not work in the auto position. @JeepCares is this recall supposed to fix this issue? The dealership said it only disables the switch to reduce more problems
Sounds like you didn't get the updateI have the altitude trim. When the switch is in auto mode, and you push the stalk forward the high beams do not turn on. If you turn the dial to ON then they work correctly when you push the stalk forward. They are suppose to work in auto mode also
We have an Altitude and I took it to our local dealership for the recall. They performed the recall and our brights now come on when the headlights are set in “Auto” mode. It’s definitely fixable.I went back to the dealership after the update to have them check it out since it didn’t fix anything, and that’s when they told me the update was to disable some type of switch for safety reasons since it’s not working, which didn’t sound right to me. I’m hoping someone from Jeep can clarify. I will probably call Jeep directly tomorrow
I also have an Altitude, and after receiving the update, mine work properly.I have the altitude trim. When the switch is in auto mode, and you push the stalk forward the high beams do not turn on.
