Having the same Service 4wd light comes on at times. Only 500 miles on it and will go to the dealer in the morning. Hopefully not a big deal but will let everyone know if it is resolved.

Let us know how your appointment goes, Pwrwgn19! If you need additional support while there, we're in private message.

Yes this is a common issue. See the TSB 08-120-21 attachment that Rollerbones posted Aug 4th in this thread. It is a simple software update. I was in and out of the dealer in less than 30 minutes.

Hello All,

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2021

I had the "Service 4wd" light turn on today at 440 miles. I restarted it a few times and it stayed on. When I got home I let it sit for about 5 minutes and restarted and it cleared up. I called my dealer to make an appointment to have it investigated, but was told unless it is still on I can't bring it in because it "Fixed itself". I am very concerned with the quality of this Jeep and would like to have all issues that occur officially documented.

@JeepCares, Is it normal for a Jeep with 440 miles to give error codes and "fix itself"? Do you have a recommendation as to how I can have this documented in an official manner given that the dealership will not schedule and service appointment for it.

Look what showed up today for me. Local service department told me 2 weeks before they can get it in. Very disappointed and does @JeepCares really care? All I see is talk and no action or support.

Thanks for the information, my GCL was
Built in August and this bulletin says for ones built prior to July. My service is very by the book and I am looking for a different dealer to take it too

This RRT also has the following statement:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. If any vehicle not on the VIN list exhibits the symptom/condition or DTC, perform the repair.
-
Note the last sentence. Good idea to look for another dealer. Worst case they verify you have the most up to date software.

Because using @JeepCares is there ever really resolutions ?
I used them on an issue with our Gladiator. Excellent follow up and helped get a back ordered part in timely. They work in conjunction with your dealer. Bad dealer…then likely nothing Jeep Cares can do. Some folks think going full on Karen on them is the key. It’s not. Professionalism was returned in kind. I’ve been in the auto insurance claims industry for well over 20 years and Jeep Cares is on point. They won’t resolve it on a forum. You’ll need to talk with them to get the best experience. Hopefully they get your issues taken care of. It is frustrating.
