GCL on 22’s

how did you increase the rim size but maintain the same sidewall? that seems like your total diameter would be too large and your speedo and odometer would be off.

Stock is 275/45R21 and these are 275/45R22…hence the same sidewall with a 1” increase in overall diameter (31.7” vs stock 30.7”). Half of the increase fills the wheel well, which is why the wheel is now about a 0.5” closer to the steering knuckle. And yes, the speedo is off by 3.3% but fortunately Mopar has a sales code for folks who plus size tires. Costs about $99 unless you have a awesome dealer like mine who comps it during my first service (did the same on my JT when I jumped to 37’s).

That’s badass. Is that air ride down? Also any tpms issues? I just installed 22’s and the new sensors aren’t working at all..

Looking good down at the Battery. You need to keep that sidewall with those Charleston potholes. I’m looking at getting the same silver SR once the hands free becomes available next year.

Thinking of getting some 22” on my GCL Limited at some point. Can you provide the specs on the correct wheels. Like size, width, offset and any other valuable information.
Looks good and thanks for any information

Sure…starting with stock dimensions: largest oem wheels are 21x9ET50. Tires are 275/45R21. Max OD is approx 32” due to steering knuckle which curves above wheel (virtual ball joint as part of multi-link suspension) and rubbing in entry/exit mode on modes with QLII. On a limited with 18’s you could probably get away with 285/60R18’s on an offset of +35 without loosing any sleep at night. Of course if you’re up for some trim work, I believe at least one person in the forum is going with ET1 on 265/65R18’s (1.7” further out than stock).

should follow up to say that 275/45R22’s were my choice because Cooper AT3 4S’s come in that size and are the only all-terrain tires I could find for 22’s under 32” OD. If the GCL is lifted (not an option for QLII models) and using 1.5” spacers, you could go with a much bigger/protective sidewall, like 285/45, 285/50 (33’s) or even some 35’s. Whatever you do, post some pics!

Thanks for all of the information. My limited actually came with the optional 20” wheels with 265/50/20 tires. I have done some research and I am being told by one tire shop that a set of 22” x 9.5 with a 35 offset with 265/40/22 tires would work. Thoughts ?
