Do not buy! Waiting for replacement part since beginning of November!

This is a warning to all who have purchased or are thinking of purchasing a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L or 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. They are selling these vehicles without replacement parts in-stock for any repairs that may be required. Our vehicle was rear-ended in early October and has been in the repair shop since then waiting for parts to come in so that we can get our vehicle back. A majority of the parts arrived in December, but we have been waiting on one ($140) part in particular that started out with a delay of two weeks, then one month, then another month, etc. We've gotten Jeep Care involved, but even they can't give us a guaranteed date of when the part will come in.

At this point our vehicle has been in the repair shop longer than we've been able to drive it during the duration of our ownership. Having seen the order status update thread here, it is also obvious that Jeep is prioritizing build more new vehicles over servicing the existing ones that have been sold which is not a surprise based on the experience we've had so far. Why can't they just pull the part our car needs from production to close out the repairs so that we can move on!

This is not to mention some of the other issues we have seen with 4WD service light and U-Connect. This has been the worst experience I've had with a new vehicle, especially one that cost as much as this did. The crazy thing is we had a Jeep Wrangler a number of years ago and were thinking of getting another one in the next year or two, but after this experience I will never buy another Jeep vehicle again and I will definitely tell everyone I know to never buy a Jeep vehicle.

I've heard it's not just a Jeep problem. Lots of automakers having similar issues due to the massive failures in supply chains, labor shortages, government mandates and so on over the last year.

But they keep turning out all the 'new' vehicles they can, while ignoring the needs of people already paid their hard-earned money. They must be seeing record buyback requests/claims.

I'm sure it is industry wide, but like Sarge said they keep building "new" vehicles. Don't tell the customer the part you need isn't available when you keep shipping out new vehicles to the dealerships.

Hey sorry you are having issues but I have to report that I bought mine in July and other than Carplay, I have been very satisfied with mine at 14,400 miles and look forward to driving it every day!
I went with an unlimited Mopar warranty since it's the first year build just to be on the safe side!

Has Jeep provided you a loaner car, same or equivalent to your GCL? If yes, I would enjoy the loaner car since all mileages you make won't affect your GCL. I had a similar experience with an European car maker recently. The supply chains for new cars and parts are totally different so it takes several weeks or even months for some parts.
For my case, it took almost 6 weeks for a small part. I had enjoyed an upgraded free loaner car. Only caveat was that there was a dealership decal on the windshield. But who cares?

Be positive and optimistic. We are living in a crazy world we have never ever experienced. Many abnormalities are new normalities.

If Jeep had assembled it correctly in the first place, a lot of these problems would be avoided. If they would slow down production to supply 'supposedly good' parts they're putting in new cars to repair their lemons, people like me wouldn't be two months deep into the lemon lifestyle, with $80k out of pocket. It's inexcusable in my mind. They have options, but they refuse to take care of the cars they built incorrectly, and the people they bilked, in favor of keeping sales as high as possible, to keep that stock price up. It's a big middle finger to those of us in this untenable position.

Update to my Uconnect haed unit - the dealer will have it installed next week. I guess we'll see how many other things are still wrong after they replace that, but at least I finally got one part out of them. Perhaps in month three of ownership, I'll finally see how all Uconnect system/apps work...
