Anyone missing their off-road pages?

Hi there,

We're sorry for the delay in our response as we're doing our best to answer all of our inquiries in the order that they are received. While there was a very recent Recall Y67 Software Update that was issued for the applicable 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL) models, we'd be happy to look into these concerns if you have already had the software update completed and the symptoms have persisted.

In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the conversation and offer assistance where possible.

I was told today from Uconnect support that the update has nothing to do with this page missing. I opened a case and was told I should see the page back in a few days. We shall see what happens. I mentioned its lots of owners dealing with the same issue. NO comment

For me, the off-road pages are still there. However, they used to be accessible directly from from the Vehicle page, but now it is gone. I was able to find the off-road pages by looking through the "All Apps" menu. This is on a Limited.

Firstly, it's important to know that you may have to re-pair your phones, reset your radio station presets, or delete & re-pair your Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection if you have recently performed a software update. You may also notice that your connected services and apps work intermittently over the 24 hour period, following the update completion. This is because it takes longer for the more technologically advanced radios to fully update and sync every part of the radio
  • We recommend customers wait about 40 minutes with their vehicle OFF (and with key fobs away from vehicle). This allows the radio to enter a "deep sleep" mode which mitigates the chances of any interruptions during the FOTA download process.
  • App-Over-The-Air (AOTA) will trigger, which refreshes internal radio apps. As your radio syncs with the cloud during this AOTA update time, your connected services and apps will work intermittently, and may take up to 24 hours to return to full functionality. Some of these services include your WiFi hotspot, remote demands through the Uconnect App, etc.
I hope that provides some clarification. Reach out if you have concerns!

Like mja997, mine is still missing altogether. It’s missing from the vehicle page (which I would like to continue to see there) and from my apps folder.

this is interesting but I doubt the cause of the issue for the off-road pages. They went missing 2 weeks ago. I have not had my vehicle in for the recall update and I would not expect that the recall update was done OTA given you (@JeepCares) advised it’s not available yet and definitely not available 2 weeks ago. It’s also impossible to confirm since the UConnect version never seems to update when FOTA update is done or in this case AOTA updates are done. The latter AOTA seems plausible reason for its removal but why was it removed, when will it be back and why is there no notice of it happening? Unless it’s a safety concern (which we still should be noticed) features shouldn’t be removed without our choice especially when they were marketed to us and listed on our build sheets. These are features we explicitly paid for.

Also is this just a canned response used for the previous model Grand Cherokee? I ask since you make reference to UConnect app. The UConnect app does not work with the 2021 Grand Cherokee L. It would be the Jeep Connect App.

Mistake or not, incorrect statements like this do not provide us confidence in the answers we are receiving. If that statements wrong, what other inaccurate information are we being provided.

I am sorry for my frustration but not getting “real” or “accurate” answers is becoming tiring.

I’d rather hear a truthful answer and can then expect that the issue is understood and being taken seriously.

Hi @WR21GCL -- While the respective apps are different, the FOTA/AOTA process is the same. My apologies for getting the app titles mixed up, but you'd be correct -- I meant the Jeep App. I've been sharing this information as a way to ensure people that their missing icons may not be anything to cause concern. When an individual reads something online, they may immediately check their vehicle to see if it applies to them. However, the circumstances may be different in the sense that 1 customer may have recently had a software update, while the other did not. By sharing this same FOTA/AOTA information across the site, our teams are making more individuals aware of the process so that we do not get an influx of concerned customers when their concerns may subside in 24-48 hours once the update has fully completed.

When newer software updates are released, it is possible that minor glitches may occur in the same way that you notice your phone reacts when it calls for an update. If you're missing the off-road pages option, have recently had the software update performed, and it has been 48+ hours, please follow up with our team privately so that we can investigate these concerns further. If you have not yet completed the most recent software update, we kindly recommend having the update performed at your earliest convenience.

Thanks,

Courtney

Im missing mine too. I’ve previously lost them on my WK2 trailhawk as well. Had to goto dealer to get them back. When I asked dealer what to do if they disappear again after factory warranty expires = up creek w/out paddle lol

I mentioned this on another thread...
I took my Overland in for the recall and 30 minutes later left with the off road pages back in the vehicle tab.
Also improved my CarPlay... connects faster and seems more stable.
We will see how long it lasts...

@jeepman Did you see any other changes from the update?
Yes I had a list of issues. My pages would over lap, off road pages were gone along with a few other’s that vanished I had sos not authorize. When I started it up and the back up camera didn’t always come on. But it all works now after I got the software update.it’s been three day’s now I haven’t had any problems.

Worth noting, these same problems cropped up during the JL launch, took 6 months or so but they were eventually all cleared up and these problems are basically non existent now…in other words, be patient, it’ll all get worked out.

Also missing off-road pages on my Overland. Not at the top of the vehicle page and not in the all apps area. It was there when I bought the vehicle 2 months ago. Just noticed this week that off-road pages were gone!

Someone mentioned either here or on FB that switching profiles brought the OR pages back to the VEHICLE portion of the radio. I tried it myself and it worked. Market app was there as well.

2nd this! I switched profiles and then switched back and initially it didn’t work, nothing returned. Turned off my vehicle and went back a few hours later to drive to the store and both were back as well! I guess that was the fix! Too good to be a coincidence

The good thing is that there is consistency in all our problems, so they aren’t unique to any one radio.

I have 2 separate profiles set up. No OR page for either profile. Are you saying to add a different profile and it comes back ? I have my service appointment tomorrow.
