I am only on my second tank of gas, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but overall the experience with my 2022 GCL SR has been positive.
There are some quality control issues which I cannot explain, and they will need to continue to improve in this area to properly compete in the luxury segment with regards to the upper level trims. Have I had any issues at all? Yes. Are any of the issues which I have personally experienced to day make me regret the purchase of the vehicle? So far, no.
If you are looking at an upper level trim, I think it's worth calling out that this is not a true luxury car - you get a pretty good value, but it's not on quite on par with something like Genesis GV80, an Acura GX, or the German manufacturers yet. I will say that I have noticed large improvements with the MY22 over the MY21 in terms of body panel alignment and even paint, which gives me hope that things could continue to improve over time, but unfortunately it will be a while before we know for sure.
With regards to negative threads, there are a few who legitimately have lemons and are rightfully upset. However, there are also a fair number of threads which I feel are attributed to user error, or had overly high expectations which perhaps were instilled by sales people or just high hopes, which turned out to be false.
My advice, if you can find a vehicle of the trim you want, test drive it. Then do it again. And one more time. Do this until you find something(s) that is a little weird. Every vehicle has at least one of these, and it's not necessarily a deal breaker, but it usually means you've gotten a good sense for how the vehicle drives and all the features function well enough that you can confidently decide either to buy one, or find something else.
