Any orders placed yet?

Does anyone have a clue as to how Jeep chooses the build order?? Is it by VIN sequence number, paint color, engine size, order date, dealer size, 2 vs 3 row, or model ?? Any input or thoughts?

Ordered 11/29. Per JC today: "I can see all the required materials for your order have been gathered and the plant has sequenced your order for production, it should be entering the build very soon!"
Still "sequenced for production" as of today. Jeep chat couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me if production shuts down between Christmas and new year.

JC has been saying my build is complete, and waiting on QC and then accessories added.

Dealer texted me this morning and said that it's sitting in JB, which he says is sent to storage while online I see that as sent to body vendor. Anyway, he's been telling me for a while, that on brand new models like this, Jeep often has them held for a couple weeks to thoroughly QC them, before releasing them to shipping. His expectation is that it could be in this status for a couple weeks, before being released to shipping. He hasn't checked for me in over a week prior to him checking multiple vehicles for me and sending me an update, but JC has been saying it's in "waiting for QC" status since I think last Monday or Tuesday, so I'm probably about a week into this QC process.

Just figured I would share with others, since unless they found something big on my JC, it might just be that everyone is going to get this delay.

JB= Shipped to body vendor

Yep, that's what I was referencing above. JC however is saying it's waiting for QC inspection, and my dealer says JB. Also, it's already left Trim, so assuming that status list is correct, what would it be going to the body vendor for? I'm going to check with JC again, to see if they still show it as waiting for QC.

OK, just reached out to Jeep chat and they said, "I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle." That sounds a lot more like "shipped to body vendor" than shipped to storage. So, it sounds like it passed QC and is waiting for installed accessories. The only installed accessory I can think of is I opted for the Mopar paint protection, so my guess is that's what is being installed.

From Jeep chat this morning. Ordered 22 GC SR v8 2-row on 10/23. I expect everyone else on this thread who ordered around early-mid October should hopefully see some movement before Christmas!

Unfortunately I messaged Jeep Chat today and was notified my ship dates got pushed back from the final ship date being 12/24/2021 and now it says the ETA window is 12/21/2021 to 1/03/2021 :(

Is it build complete, just waiting to ship? My wife's Grand Wagoneer has been waiting to ship for over two weeks. Just got word it's finally moved to the rail yard, but still no ETA for when we might get it.

Learning about Jeep chat helped a lot. I haven’t been able to get a ton of info from my dealer. Looks like getting my VIN for my Summit Reserve order at the end of October still puts in the 2022 build schedule.

Jeep chat mentioned that it is in part selection and waiting for the 2022 build schedule to start and check back in a month.
I have been checking in with Jeep chat and things are looking better:
12/9 @ 8am - Maurice: I am showing as of 10-4-2021, all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received and your vehicle is waiting for its turn in the assembly line. The vehicle will be entering the build process very soon
12/21 @ 3pm - Randy: I see that your new Grand Cherokee is in shipping with the ETA showing as to be determined

Will just be a late, late Christmas present.

The build is complete just waiting to ship. I've had an original ETA window of 12/13 to 12/24. Dealer texted me yesterday and said "No updates today. I'll let you know as soon as it's at last stop before loading on truck" So, I don't know if that means it is still waiting in the yard or if its already been loaded by rail and is out there somewhere waiting for the truck to bring it to the dealership. My current ETA is now 12/21 to 1/03 @tnedator

I was just told today, Dec21 from JC, the same thing that you were told. I also ordered the Mopar paint protection. So, it appears that our V8 SR’s are in the same spot. Now we wait.

That's the only accessory (film on hood and such) that I can think of that would need to be installed. Hopefully, they aren't too backed up waiting on the install.

From this morning: Thank you for the details, much appreciated. Your vehicle is fully assembled and ready for the road! Congratulations! The ETA to the dealer is 12/29/2021 - 01/10/2022, but please keep in touch with us for the very latest. I am glad I was able to get that update to you, remember, we are available 24/7 for you. Can I assist with anything else for now?

Received this screenshot from the dealer today. Looks like my Jeep has been waiting for a ride to the dealer since 12/12/21... hopefully it gets one soon!
