This was my question but Scott addressed it:Regarding the "sequenced for production" line that Jeep Chat throws out there... are the builds sequenced by the last 5 numbers of the VIN? Or does VIN mean nothing in terms of the order of production? Anyone know?
On other forums, they also said this; production isn't done in numerical order by VIN. I didn't know that. For reference, mine is 23650 and last I knew, mine was in the production line - but I don't have a build-sheet.They certainly don’t go by VIN as the number one order of production. I’m 22102 and I’ve seen several 30000s produced already.
I’m 22102 and a GCL V6 and I’m not in production yet. What are your vehicle specs out of curiosity? This was my question but Scott addressed it:

What model and engine?I’m 22119 and out for delivery.
I ordered the 2 row Limited V6 w/ panoramic moonroof + 10.1 head unit. Order was placed on 11/26. JC says it's being sequenced for production, but my dealer said its in the production line. So, I'm not really sure which one is true.I’m 22102 and a GCL V6 and I’m not in production yet. What are your vehicle specs out of curiosity?
We're pretty close in VINs, we'll have to keep each other updated.I'm 23776. Limited WL74. Dealer says it's in D1, but Jeep Chat has said it's being "sequenced" for production since Dec 16. So who knows what's true.
Not only that, but we have almost identical vehicles, ordered 3 days apart, and we're getting the same conflicting answers from JC and the dealer. We're pretty close in VINs, we'll have to keep each other updated.
2 row GC SR V8What model and engine?
I ordered a week before you and still ‘being sequenced’ is all Jeep Chat will say. Going on 6 weeks and honestly don’t expect to see it before mid February. At least I have a VIN so that is a plus! I ordered a WL74 Summit Reserve with V6. Added everything available except V8 so now we wait and see. If this was a ’normal’ situation I would think it would have been here. I have ordered Grand Cherokee’s before as well as JLU Wranglers, including special editions, and none have ever taken over 6 weeks order to delivery. Just to give you a time frame. I ordered on 10/23/21. Jeep was built after 7-8 weeks on 12/12/21 and I’ve now been waiting since to take to delivery. Currently on week number 11. Dealer today told me that it's no longer in "delayed" status, now it's just staged for shipping, so he's thinking it's getting close.Well I’ll be at 4 weeks by the end of this week so based off of your info I should be getting close!
But I agree this process can be incredibly frustrating. I live in the Pittsburgh area which is only 200 miles or so from Detroit
I had an 05 GC with Hemi and that's 2mpg above my experience. Maybe 14 if I was mindful, 12 pretty typical, closer to 11 if I had a heavy foot or stop and go traffic. I won't buy another Hemi so for me the decision was between waiting for an inline 6 or going with the 4xe. Decided on the hybrid as I can do my commute on battery but still have the gas engine to assist with longer drives.I am currently torn between the two, V6 or HEMI, and mainly due to fuel economy. I have had both the RAM 1500 with 5.7 and currently a 2500 6.4 and know the gas pains of the HEMI. I am thinking it would not be as bad in the Cherokee as the 1500 but could be wrong. My GM shared he drives one with the HEMI and after break in, he can get up to 16+ city driving, but that’s with being fuel economy mindful, not just popping around and not caring….. 14 if he is hurrying around town.
I’m with you on that. Ordered the exact same vehicle on Oct 8th, also with the protection package. Mine was finished about a week ago with a dealer ETA of 1/11 to 1/26. I don’t quite understand the build priority. I’ve seen orders placed mid to late November already delivered.I'm 02350 and has been sitting "waiting on installation of additional accessories" since 12/10/21 which could only be the protection package and is nothing more than mudguards and paint film. Order placed on 10/4/21 for 2 row SR V8. I'm starting to get frustrated with what seems to be the hodge podge way of handling production and orders.
