2021 vs. 2022

I think is early to know if once they finish their 2021 GCL’s on order (most are V8) that they will revert back to V6 for MY2022.
Your dealer may be right so unless you are willing to wait until end of the year you might want to grab a V8 now.

I ordered a Summit in July, and my decision process was based on comparing the Overland vs Summit. I wasn’t interested in the off-road package offered in the overland (not planning on going off-road), and I wanted the Tupelo Napa leather, so I opted for the Summit. I was aware that the summit came standard with the QT2 because of the e-lsd, but didn’t know of the different axel.
So, I’ll upset because of the lack of notice from the dealer/Jeep, but only because I don’t plan on going off road with it, I should be ok with the Summit.
In conclusion, the Overland will be the only one with the QD2 (e-lsd, 230mm axel, skid plates), therefore making it the top of the line and not the SR.
If I was planning on going off-road, I would have to cancel and make a new reservation to a overland with off-road package, but no Tupelo leather.
Makes sense? What do you think?

the summit eLSD came with a 230mm axle. When they removed the eLSD, they also updated the sticker to specify the 230MM axle (implied 230mm without eLSD). originally, the only difference was skid plates and tire choices.

Yep. Now they have removed the 230mm axle and gone back to the 195mm in the rear.

I’m not so sure anymore! Waiting for some new V8 build sheets to come out to take a look. If you ordered a while ago I would say yes. If you ordered this week I would question what you are getting. A week ago the website said 230mm rear axle. They have removed it since. Only time will tell.ED076284-1750-4B11-A67C-D84C01B5A2F2.jpeg

So we are rapidly approaching September when supposedly orders for the 2022 will be opened. My order is still in part organization, and no signs of being built soon. I dont plan to take the SR I ordered because of all the glitches and removed features. Curious what the order options will be for the 2022. Maybe some actual choices? Doubt it, but willing to wait because the product coming out right now isnt sounding like its high quality.

From what has been commented, expect only additional colors. Nothing major.
Keep in mind however, that even if orders open soon for MY22, these would not start shipping until December. Initial production day for MY22 is Nov 1st.
I believe that whatever is being built today under MY21, compared to the units that shipped in the last 8 weeks, has to be better. I am assuming they are doing their job of listening to the issues and incorporating changes into production to improve quality on future batches.
If whatever they end up shipping between now and end of October still has the same issues that many reported on the initial units, then that would be mediocre job of not getting better at what you are doing.

Hands free driving assist coming in 2022 and possibly a passenger screen in the higher trims as an option.

It still doesn't mean they are not doing their best to improve.
The thought of Jeep or any other brand not caring about current issues in a new model is unrealistic.
They certainly care, however their ability to do better and improve is another different subject.
