Follow the manual and just change it when you get the notification on your dash. Oil interval changes are like religion and politics best not talked about on a forum, you will just get a million different opinions from random keyboard warriors. At what mileage should thr first oil change take place. I have read around 7k , 10k and even 3k?
I agree with you, but I also agree with the original post. I looked in the manual and I couldn’t find what interval our GCL’s go off. I know what I prefer on my older vehicles, but I would like to know what the manufacturer says on this one specifically. Obviously our vehicles have an oil “percentage” til its ready for a change but I haven’t driven ours enough to figure out how many miles that is yet. Be nice of them to put it in the manual.Follow the manual and just change it when you get the notification on your dash. It's dynamic based off your driving style and conditions. But in general I think the manual says no more than 10k miles or 12 months.I agree with you, but I also agree with the original post. No it doesn't. Break-in oil is a thing of the past when it comes to factory vehicles.I would wait for the oil indicator light to come on. The oil the engine comes with from the factory has special additives that aid in the break-in of the motor.
Looks great! I am glad to meet a fellow Porsche owner here! As I did to my Porsche, I am planning to take care of my first Jeep very well.@dynamics101 - Sounds like a good idea to me. I am also a fellow Porsche owner
I would never wait in that again. I did once and the warning came on at 18k . That's wat to long . Most oils last about 8k, that car was a lease ,so i didn't care. I do mine every 5k with a max of 7500kI would wait for the oil indicator light to come on. The oil the engine comes with from the factory has special additives that aid in the break-in of the motor.
Most synthetic oils last 10k easy, if not more like 20k. The oil filter is the weak link these days.I would never wait in that again. I did once and the warning came on at 18k . That's wat to long .
