WL summit reserve price change?

New to forum - appreciate any insight!

long story short, went to a local dealership around 10 days ago and asked about the 3 row summit reserve. Salesman worked up a pricing sheet with V8 and a couple of the luxury tech packages. Total was around $71k not including sales tax and doc fees. Didn’t buy anything since I wanted to test drive. Fast forward to today - had same guy work up a number again and all the items were surcharged. MSRP car alone up around $2k, V8 up $500, both luxury pro tech packages up around $300 combined. The customer preferred package on the pricing sheet up $500 (not exactly sure what that is). Total increase around $3500 - nothing new was added to the vehicle.

Anyways I asked him about it and he said they (Chrysle) recently just bumped everything due to demand - does this seem accurate?

Didn’t get anything today either. Told him Jeep.com pricing still reflected the lower pricing for the options. He said if you go to any dealership they will have the same higher prices now. Thoughts? I guess I could go to the other one close by but I think they are mutually owned. Thanks for your replies.

I’m guessing the “customer preferred package” is a bundle of unnecessary dealer add-ons that they’d “prefer” you buy.

(Haven’t heard anything about price increases.)

@Indigovic I was discussing this with someone and it was mentioned that the base price has increased due to the rear seat entertainment is now included in the Summit Reserve, I can not deny or confirm this. Do you know if that is on fact a difference in your build pricing?

I’m planning on buying a 4xe, and they haven’t even fully revealed pricing on that yet, so I’m no help there.

I’ve never heard anything about rear-seat entertainment being added as standard to SR (passenger screen, yes; rear screens, no). And I’d be pretty surprised if they started forcing it onto SRs now, when, so far as I’ve heard, they haven’t even let people who want to add it as an option do so on any trim level yet, including SR.

Sorry original message was on my iPhone - so was hard to get specific with numbers. Here's the difference between Jan 6th and Today (only line items that changed). This is the dealerships "Configuration Preview" - which is basically everything priced out but fees/sales tax.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4:

Description: MSRP Jan 6th MSRP Jan 17th
Grand Cherokee L Summit $60,360 $62,300
Customer Pref Package 25U $4,000 $4,480
5.7L V8 Hemi $3,295 $3,795
Lux Tech Group V $245 $275
Lux Tech Group IV $1,995 $2,235

I asked him what the "Customer Preferred Package 25U" was and he said that was the Summit Reserve code? No clue - but I knew I wasn't buying today.

All the other line items (paint, destination fee, etc, etc) did not change. But this amounted to close to $3500 in surcharge. No mention of rear entertainment as the reason.

All things considered with inflation and everything - I suppose "demand" could be changing the price all around - but I'm hoping it's universal and they aren't trying to take advantage.

Appreciate all the responses so far - really like the car and want to pull the trigger soon.

25U is the reserve package. This is from my sticker for comparison.

Yeah good stuff thanks. This looks like my configuration from Jan 6th. Just concerned that everything has gone up (other than the paint and destination fees) in 10 days!

I had worked out a deal on Friday on a Trailhawk. Went in today and put down a deposit. Dealer called me back an hour later and said the price had gone up $4,500. I told them to forget it then, the deal is off. Thought they were just being sleazy but I guess Jeep really is raising all their prices? That’s messed up.

Happening a lot lately with Jeep and other vehicles. Happened with wranglers quiet a few times when I had one on order, same for the TRX. At least with most dealers once your order is placed your price is locked in.

My bad, I was misinformed with the above...... They corrected me stating it was the passenger Interactive screen they were talking of, but I do believe that was always included, based on availably, in the Summit R

The passenger screen was indeed always part of the SR package, and I don’t think I heard anyone report that it was deleted on a ‘22 Non-L GC. When their availability was apparently constrained, it looks like they reserved what they had for the SR (since it’s the one build where it’s standard equipment), and just held off on offering it as an option for anyone else until recently.

I was using the "Search Inventory" feature on jeep.com this morning out of curiosity to see if any vehicle were available in my area. Looks like most of the SR that are being built have had an increase in price by about $2500 as compared to similarly equipped vehicles in transit. I suppose the configurator will be updated soon.

The 2,235 is consistent with the Build and Price for the 4xe. Seems like they just havern’t changed the configuration for the v6/v8.
