Windshield chip, repair or replace?

Got about a 1" chip on the highway. There's not much I can feel on the inside or outside surface of the glass... this seems mostly to be internal. Anybody have an opinion on whether I should try to get this repaired or just replaced at the dealership? I have an appointment next week for the recall upgrade... anyone think this needs to be fixed before then?

The second day after I picked up my vehicle, I got a chip as well. Although mine is much smaller, it is right in front of my nose - LOL!

Went to Safelite who will be doing the replacement and asked for their opinion if repair was an option, too. In short: In the line of sight = replacement.

That happened about 3 weeks ago and since then, I'm waiting for the OEM windshield to come in. As with everything right now, it's on backorder. Heck, I can't even get the rubber mats...:p
