Water leaking and accumulating in trunk passenger side

Has anyone else experienced water leaking from the roof inside into the trunk area? I noticed this a few months ago, when the plastic basin in the passenger side trunk area would inexplicably fill up with water. I realized this would happen after it rains, but had no idea how water could accumulate there. I took the truck to the dealership and they couldn't replicate the issue (I suspect they didn't even try), so I decided to hose down the car one day - lo and behold I saw water leaking down the side panels and into the plastic basin. This is on top of multiple other issues I've had with the car (most of which have been documented in these forums) - I swore not to buy a first generation car a long time ago but the L was too good to pass up.

I have a 2021 GCL Summit Reserve V8. Great car, when it's not in the shop.

Passengers on the titanic lined up for tickets also…

Being serious, the leak is troubling. It could be a simple drain tube from the moon roof or could serious as a body seam not glued. If I was you I would get it looked at by the dealer to determine severity.

Water dripping onto the seat buttons will cause problems, let alone long term mold issues. This is clearly a Jeep defect and seeing how they are supposed to test 100% of vehicles for this defect off the line in a water test area, yours clearly wasn’t tested or noticed. That fact leads me to believe you have other issues not known about or about to be noticed when serviced. If it did pass the test but now leaks, that fact leads me to believe the body seams/glass seals have started to separate/become unsealed. Due to body length, roof glass, and twisting it is very plausible.

Older WK2’s had a recall due to a loose wire in the headliner for the dome light that caused fires. Do you think water leaking into the same area won’t?

Fix it or sell it. Selling is best, per my attorney and therapist.

Go to a dealer & bend over. 🤑
Ha - but seriously I've heard of buybacks? I don't think a particular dealer would care enough to pay me for the car but I've read that Jeep corporate has bought back vehicles before given enough complaining and documentation of issues...

This will need many attempts. I have been denied buyback twice; currently have retained an attorney and in the lemon law process.

Had this happen on other side of mine, after a car wash, noticed the rubber seals where wires and or the washer line for wiper were not seated. Pushed mine back in and haven’t had a problem since. Hope this helps. DE65CE6A-E74F-4A18-97B3-9AA95F03C20A.jpeg

i had this same issue in May. I discovered this after both batteries were completely dead. Had the car towed to the dealer. While the dealer did a water test and corrected the leak, i have been having electrical issues ever since. The dealer said they found corrosion on some of the modules. My leak was discovered above the overhead console and ran down to the same location you showed in the picture.

The leak has been fixed, but i am still having electrical issues. It was at the dealer for 2 1/2 weeks and i have to take it back again as some of the electrical issues persist.
