UConnect - Apple CarPlay

Hey all

Has anyone had any issues with the sound quality while listening to music with CarPlay?
I have tried using both wired, and wirelessly. Neither come close to the sound quality that I had in my 19 Grand Cherokee using the same phone, and cables. There are very obvious pops, and clicks during playback. They aren’t as bad when using wired, but they are still frequent, and noticeable. Using CarPlay wirelessly is not even an option for me, because they quality is absolutely brutal.
Thanks.

I have the pops and crackles sometimes when wireless. However, I’m having this very annoying issue with the phone where when I try to call through Apple car play there is no audio and when I do get a phone call it does not pop up on the Apple car play. Wondering if that’s a wireless issue. I’ll have to plug it in to see. Any issues like that with yours?

I’ve only had it for a few days, and haven’t made, or received any calls yet, but I have not had any issues when it reads a text message to me, and they do appear on the screen. However, the red notification icon does not disappear after the message has be read, unless I listen to it a second time.

Update. After I reset the Uconnect through the settings things are how they should be. No piping or static, less lag between switching. This is for wireless car play. I can make and receive phone calls. We will see if it stays this way.

Are you talking about the reset that is done by pushing, and holding both the volume, and tuning button? If so, I’ve tried this with no luck. Thanks anyway.

No. In the settings there is a way to reset your Uconnect back to factory settings. It completely wiped the computer

Can you give us a little more guidance on how to find this reset? I can’t for the life of me find a uconnect reset

Go to the vehicle icon. Tap settings tab on the top left (I think top left). On the left hand side you will have sub menus. Scroll all the way to the bottom and there should be a reset button. That will open another page with options. Scroll down to the bottom should be an option for factory reset.

Are you still having the same issue or did you find a fix? I’m having the same problem with my new Jeep. Thanks.

I’m still having issues. I’m hoping there will be a software update sooner rather than later that will take care of it. 🤞🏻
