turn off or unplug wireless charger

Hey everyone. anyone know a way to turn off the wireless charge? My wife wants to use that area for storage for items and we arnt the biggest fan of l the whole cubby used to charge a phone. Anyone know how to unplug it or turn it off?

I'm normally on the BMW forums and pretty handy with the DIYs

I think it would set a warning if it is turned off or noticed an error. I would just use as cubby, it will not detect a phone and therefore not charge. You will get a red light but if you use it as storage I'm sure you won't even see it.

I am wondering the same thing. Thought about folding a small cloth or something to provide a buffer between the charger surface and the stuff I put in that space. Maybe that way it wouldn’t register at all that something is there..??

It would have to be thick, wireless chargers can still charge through cases

I'm pretty sure there is already a mat in there. The charger is already shielded. No need to add a cloth or other liner that I can see.
