Traffic Sign Assist...Helpful or??

I enabled traffic sign assist after reading that it will use various cameras to distinguish traffic signs and give you a heads up on your dash. Sometime cars park in front of stop signs and I have come close to blowing them so I hoped this may help but all I get is a constant chime when I go 1mph over speed limit.

Does anyone use this feature or just a waste of time??

I still see the speed limit on my HUD with the feature off. But with feature on the only thing I noticed was the chime when speed was over limit.

Are you in a Summit? I can't figure out how to see the Speed Limit on my HUD in my Overland; I am wondering if it's a part of Traffic Sign Assist, which is a Summit-only feature.

I am but I believe you can turn on speed limit on bud with GPS settings but not 100 percent sure

I love it but I turn the chime off. Even without the chime it will still read the signs and update it in the cluster, on the map, and on the HUD.

Anyone find out if this is a summit only feature?
We just picked up the overland ... and we have all the available packages .... but cannot find TSA in the Uconnect menus where it is supposed to be

Summit level feature.

I don't have mine set to chime so maybe that helps. I think it's great for construction zones but after driving my Summit 4,000 miles on a road trip, I can say it's not perfect. You can't solely rely on it. There were times when I knew the speed limit was 75 but for some reason it kept reverting to 65. And other times it would say the speed limit was a really odd number like 48. It's not perfect, but overall I like it.

What does it provide beyond the already existing GPS provided speed limit? Are you saying that it recognizes construction speed limit signs?

Yes, it will actually recognize speed limit signs and show you what the speed limit is, even temporary construction zone signs. It’s as accurate as what it can see so if something is blocking the sign, it won’t see it. It’s not perfect but is basically another data point to help if you missed a sign.

I see the speed limit sign in the dash and HUD. Have you noticed any difference in appearance between a recognized sign and a GPS provided limit? Does it draw it any differently?

I can’t tell the difference. They are all identical in the dash, HUD, and Nav screen. I am at the end of a 2,000+ mile road trip and they’ve all been in sync with each other with no way of knowing if it is the GPS provided limit or the sign recognition.

FYI: detected signs can’t get confused. I drive a road that has local and express lanes with different speed limits depending on which set of lanes you are in. It can’t tell the difference so it just keeps swapping between the two speed. I’m really glad it doesn’t adjust speed based upon the sign detection.

The speed limit sign thing actually demonstrated itself in my area this week. The speed limit on a local road has been increased and it actually detects and shows the updated speed.
Of limited use, but interesting.

Does anyone know of other sign types it can read? pedestrian crossing? Slow corners? Anything?
