I currently drive a 2018 lifted Tacoma. No offroad use and I want something more luxury. I was planning to go in tomorrow to see what kind of a deal I can work out on a 2022 GCL limited 4x4. But after reading all the issues on here I might be changing my mind.

I've always been a toyota buyer and never had a single repair. I realize Jeep won't be the same and I intend on buying an extended warranty if I do purchase.

What are your thoughts/ opinions? I also tow a 5500 lbs boat but only twice a year (once to the marina in May and once out of the marina in Oct).

It's a great vehicle in theory, and some people seem to have no problems at all, but with the massive amount of problems I've had (almost completely unresolved after four months, and getting worse) I can only say "wait".

They're going to be announcing the new inline 6 twin turbo at NYAS in mid April, which might only go to the Wagoneer at first, but will eventually make it in to the WL. It's potentially a great powertrain (more power, better MPG, better power at high elevation), but I'd probably let that get sorted for a couple of years too.

In that time, there will be a new Sequoia (this summer, V6 TT hybrid), and a new 4Runner another year off probably. For now, though, I'd have a really hard time recommending one of these. My fuel economy with the V8 has been 13 over the last 4k miles. I'm trying to get a replacement from Stellantis, but that's not going too quickly so far.

All that said, you'd probably really enjoy the WL if you get a good one, but if you don't... coming from Toyota... it might be extremely frustrating. A lease would be a good idea (depreciation might end up being really bad on these), but even then... if you can't drive it and don't keep your Toyota as a backup car, you could easily end up very, very frustrated. Not all Jeep dealers give loaners, and Jeep only allows for a $50/day rental car (I can't rent an e-bike for that where I live).

Things to consider.
