im Sure this is on here somewhere but I can’t find it. I’m sorry if it is, but does anyone know what the tail light recall is for and what they replace?

My car was in the shop today and they said this morning they would take care of both recalls. however there is not a fix yet for the Tailights so they did not fix that one.

If your tail lights work are they just inspecting and closing the recall? Does anyone have non-working taillights. I’ve heard a lot of complaints on here but that is not one I think I’ve heard even once. Why can’t they do a recall on something we all complain about.

It's not the entire tail light that doesn't work on some vehicles. It's only the rear side marker portion of the wraparound taillight that is the problem.

Funnily enough I found the internal part of my right rear light housing was loose when I was drying it off after a wash then accidently bumped and heard it rattle inside. Asked about it at an oil change and they said both rear lights were gonna be replaced under the recall anyways when the parts are available.

WHEN! the parts are available. that could take months, years, decades for Jeep. They cannot even fix a software issue (apple car play) that requires no parts. I am not going to hold my breath.

I haven't looked at my illuminated lights, but the housings have bubbles in them as a manufacturing defect and should be replaced.
