Running Boards

I run into some issues with running boards. I have white L limited and white L overland. I bought mopar running boards for both. When they arrived I realized you have to take off bottom side skirts and replace those skirts with running boards. They look great on L limited since it already has that black lower trim all the way around. However on the overland the bottom trim is painted to match body color. And when I took off the white side skirt and installed the running board it looks really bad because front and rear valance and wheel arch moldings are all painted white and running boards are textured black... I can't believe jeep approved this part for overland. Is there any other aftermarket running boards for the overland?

I'm looking for aftermarket running boards as well. Do you have a picture of how it looks on your overland? What you have posted is on your limited, correct?

I forgot to take pics on mine but here is what I found online. To me they look really bad on the overland and great on the limited.

Yes. Even the splash guards look really bad on the overland. Unless you have a Black color jeep.

Steps look good on my SR, only downside is that you will for sure be constantly dragging your leg on them getting in and out. Going to be dirty when muddy and snow/slush season start! Kids love it though!

Bought an overland with the black running boards factory installed. I think they look good, or at least unobjectionable. But the key for us is that they make it super easy for our small children to get in and out of the car.

Do you have a side pics of that white overland, not from an angle? My concern is that front and rear painted valance looks more extended to the ground then the middle of the car.

It’s the same height as the original trim that was removed to install the boards. The flaps are definitely lower.

Are the Mopar running boards the only boards available for the GCL? They are expensive at about $700-$800. Are there any aftermarket ones that fit the GCL?
thx,
Bob

I looked closer today and it is higher in the middle but the flare at the end is to the same height of the original trim.
