Running Boards

Has anyone found any 3rd party running boards that work nicely with the GCL?

If not, can someone confirm P/N 82216145ad is the right factory choice?

Does anyone have pics of the running boards with the doors open? Trying to see how much step they provide for my kiddos. Thanks.

Checked everywhere. 3rd party sites, Mopar, dealers, all say the bright/chrome ones are back ordered at least a month.

Hope this helps, I feel like they’re going to get the back of my pants dirty
You are correct I step out more so that doesn't happen.
My main reason for having them are they stick out past the body a little, So it may prevent other people that don't care about opening there doors hitting other cars.

I ordered the parts from the MOPAR site listed in the post. There are two with the same part #. One is all black and the other has the chrome. Opted for the chrome and it was only 2 hours of labor at a local accessory shop. Just make sure they have a rivet tool or something they’re comfortable using. Our place said that is the usual issue that causes the most headaches and take the most time, though they’re just little, plastic parts.

The instructions were very straight forward and have the rivet tool part number if you want to try it yourself. As it was Jan. when I bought mine and in no way was doing it during the winter! AMAZON sells that specific part as a RAM tool.

Hope that helps y’all!

I really like the look of the Mopar ones. The style and fit looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Just installed the chrome ones this weekend. Wasn’t too bad. The Mopar rivnut tool is a absolute necessity. I thought about doing it without the tool, but it’s only like $15 on Amazon. The hardest part was removing all the plastic seal clips. But they aren’t needed at all, so if they break, it’s not big deal.

Definitely helps to have a second person to help. Got the first side done in an hour or so, and the second side done in like 20 mins.

Felt easier than when I installed some on my old WK2.

Will post some pics when it stops raining.

Looking at ordering a set of these for my Limited.....Are they actually really functional? I've read that they are pretty much on the same plane as the inside floor, making it hard to use for stepping in/out of the vehicle.

How do they feel when using them to step in/out?
